Hi there,
this was a hard fold for me today. Do you think it was correct?

Since the pot was only raised once pre flop I put him on a range of 2pairs or trips after the flop and not so much 22+.

Thanks for your advice.

No Limit Hold'em $0.01/$0.02
PartyPoker
9 players

Stacks:
UTG+1 - UTG+1 ($2.42)
UTG+2 - Hero ($2.50)
MP - MP ($1.92)
MP2 - MP2 ($2.03)
CO - CO ($3.03)
BTN - BTN ($3.02)
SB - SB ($5.51)
BB - BB ($1.99)
BB - BB ($2.00)

Preflop: ($0.05, 9 players) Hero is UTG+2 with A♦ A♠
BB checks, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.08, 5 folds, BB calls $0.06, BB calls $0.06

Flop: 6♣ 9♠ 8♠ ($0.41, 3 players)
BB checks, BB bets $0.18, Hero raises to $0.36, 1 fold, BB raises to $1.92 (all-in), 1 fold, Uncalled bet of $1.56 returned to BB

Total Pot: $1.49

BB wins $0.93

Let's start with why do you raise the flop for that size? You raise for value or you want to invite the 3rd player too?
I do not think you should call. Good fold.

Your post-flop raise seems to small on a wet board like this.
I would make it at least 45c in total on a donk lead of the BB and fold on a shove as well.

Cheers,

Even though we block NF here, I still think it's not a good idea to raise flop but just call. We need to defend tighter and raise with stronger hands than that.

Two players BB????

preflop: ok

Flop: I don’t like your raise. After all, you only have an overpair. There is a straight, some sets and a lot of draws against you. While you have good position in general, you have a player behind you still to act, could be a checkraiser. Just call, and when the turn blanks, reevaluate your hand.

But IF you raise, then raise! Those minraise are NEVER a good idea. 3,5x the bet, 27 BB, are a good size. But now you see: If you bet, you risk your whole stack with a measly overpair against two players.

I agree with only calling on board like this. As played, I´d say folding is the best.

I don't get this hand. why are there 2 big blinds? and 1 of them is first to act? and why is the pot so big on the flop?

beside that I'd say that a donkbet might be either weak or strong. depends a lot on villain and the situation. in this case and without any more information, just calling the flop might be the best option.

i don't like to raise/fold AA. why turning them into a bluff? if i raise them i go broke....but this is the wrong spot to do this.

I think someone just sat at the table and right away paid the BB.

This seems like the logic reason and you see as well that the BB is checking first in the hand history as well.

I would not raise OTF with an overpair. If you decide to do so, you should do it bigger. As played I think you should fold.

Thanks for all the advice. Yeah the weird 2nd BB was a player who just sat down on the table and payed the BB to start playing immediately if I recall correctly. For some reason the poker room / handconverter calls him BB as well.

I agree that my raise was too small and I also agree if I do a proper sized raise it would not feel right to raise at all in this position with an overpair.

I am not sure if I agree with calling. I have 2 outs (the aces) to improve my hand basically, right? I have no information if someone has 2pair, sets, a flushdraw, a straight or straighdraw. Why pay to see the turn at all here then and not just fold to the donkbet right away?

You cannot fold an overpair vs a donk bet.
First you will be overfolding.
Second, he can do this with KK-TT, 9x...

You can just call. You have 2 streets of value.

Sorry this is probably a stupid question but what are my 2 streets of value that justify a call?

And let's say there is nothing interesting on the turn and river (not flush, paired board or more straights) and he keeps donk betting less than potsize into me would you then call this down to the end?

He can donk 9x, 7x, TT-QQ here.
What will stop you from calling?

KK, something tells me to fold there OTT, but I´m not sure if it´s ok, opp seems fishy (2 pot bets??!!), I´m afraid that if we call there OTT, we should call OTR as well. I like fold OTT. However, I am not sure about this one.

QQ, the sizing of 4B is small, so maybe, we can call there. If it was normal size (2-2,5x) I would recommend you folding, because ppl at micros simply don´t have wide 4B UTG range enough. I see only KK, AA there. However, the sizing of 4B makes me wonder, it´s weird :).

KK could be indeed folded OTT. If you call OTT you could call it down but basically I don't think you are making a huge mistake with any line you choose.
QQ vs this 4bet sizing I think it is ok to call. Postflop was ok imo.
