Hello guys. This is my first time posting a hand so bare with me. I'm a newbie, starting to learn the game and this hand confused me so I hope next time to have a better understanding of the situation with your help.

PokerStars Hand #170801792446: Hold'em No Limit (€0.01/€0.02 EUR)

SB: €0.84 (42 bb)
BB: €2.30 (115 bb)
EP: €3.52 (176 bb)
HERO (CO): €2 (100 bb)
BTN: €2.38 (119 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A♥:2♥:
1 fold, Hero raises to €0.06, BTN raises to €0.12, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls €0.06

Flop: (€0.27)5♥:3♥:3♣:
Hero bets €0.17, BTN calls €0.17

Turn: (€0.61): 3♦:
Hero checks, BTN raises to €0.18, Hero calls €0.18

River: (€0.97) 8♦:
Hero checks, BTN checks

Spoiler

Hero shows A♥:2♥:
BTN shows K♥:J♥:
Hero wins €0.97

Villan seems fishy with 37/21 and 27 3b out of 33 hands.

Preflop: I play maybe more loose than others but for me is a standard raise in CO position. Villain min 3b. I put him on a wide range at this moment as with so few hands I can not have an accurate read on the guy. Call seemed like the normal thing to do

Flop: The board looks great for me, and the villain has a 57 WTSD so I decided to bet for value in this spot.

Turn: When he called back the flop I put him on Ax, Kx or flush draws. However, he could have pocket pair or A3 slowed played so I decided to check and see what happens. The turn is a bad card which beats my flush and straight draw in case of pocket pair so I even considered giving up in case of a big bet. He bets 1/3 of the pot with a high aggression factor on the turn and low aggression factor on the river. Before he bet bigger so, maybe a mistake, I thought he is betting for protection with a lot of air in this spot. I called.

River: Blank for me, Check with the idea to give up in case of any bet. Checks back.

My questions are: how many flaws do I have in the thought process? Was it to risky and I will lose money on the long run in situations like this? Should I just fold preflop to min 3 bet? Thanks for any feedback.

Preflop is fine. You call the raise because it is small.

Flop: You are most definitely not value betting with A2 high. Betting may still be in order, provided you tough it out (you ship) if you get raised. Whether to do this (donk or not) depends on the opponent. Best versus a reg that hates donks and autoraises them. (You are then going to donk nuts as well.) Note: The typical play here is to begin with a check.

Turn: The turn is not "good" or "bad". It is a total blank. As played, whether you continue barreling depends on your ranges. I'd most surely fire again with, say, 76s, but bluffing with A high may be a waste of showdown value. You have enough outs to check and call a reasonable bet.

River: Fine.

If you are using stats and he folds a lot to donkbets, just donkbet flop. Otherwise, checkcall. :-)

First of all, thanks for the reply. Preflop, I usually go with check, but against this specific villain I decided to bet due to many outs compared to his range.

I dont understand why you see my A2s worse than 76s.

I would also check/call the Flop. I don't think we can value bet a FD. The board hits him better then us. As played, I think check/calling the Turn vs the size is fine. Check/folding the River is also fine imo.

I also think we can't bet the flop. The board is paired as well. We would mostly try to call off even if we make a flush.

Agree with xc the flop - low paired board, not that much FE.

Thank you all for the feedback. In my mind, due to the fact that I put the opponent on a wide range, betting was the obvious direction to take. Apparently, there is a lot to learn even in that situation.

Generally speaking (not particular to this hand), you can't bluff with all candidates. You'd be bluffing too much. So you have to choose. When bluffing, you rely on two things. Fold equity and outs. If the outs are about equal, then you should bluff with the hand that has greatest fold equity. Winning the pot with 7 high is an accomplishment, much is gained. But an A can win on its own (and this is what actually happened this time); little is gained if KQ folds.
