4bet pot with JJ OOP

X/c the flop, you might induce a bluff

Why do you 4bet here JJ? As played, we should xc flop here with middle strength hands OOP.

V had 11 3-bet stat and 2 out of 3 from the button.

So how would your JJ be against that range if you called instead?

I agree with hesticus, if we 4bet he folds a lot of the hands we are dominating, and we go into a 50% equity pot rather then a 65% if we just call

Also, 100 hands isnt a lot, so that doesnt really give us any information about villain 3bet range, i would check fold this flop oop if he checks back were probably in front, then i would bet 30% an check call river, it seems like he has AJ+

I don't hate a preflop 4bet CO vs BTN in general. Vs some players we can 4bet and even call a shove. Not sure if that villain is the right guy because we have just 100 hands on him and VPIP/PFR don't look out of the line in the sample size. I would rather call in this case. When we did 4bet, I think the size should be a bit bigger, like $2,30 (~2,5x OOP and ~2,2x IP is "standard", I believe). On the flop villain doesn't have alot of worse hands that are calling our cbet, if any. He doesn't fold better ones, eithere. So I think the optimal play would be check/call once and give up. He doesn't have alot of worse hands to barrel turn and river with. I think KQs is checking back the turn after all the action.

Against a good player with healthy 3-bet range from the button it is very important to tighten up the opening in the first place, and to losen up 4-betting. You can't outplay him postflop (or even a bad player, this is what comes with being OOP), and only calling with JJ against a weak range is just silly. Overcards will appear on pretty much every flop.

I think calling and 4betting seem like both ok options given the situation .As someone stated though 100 hands isn't a'lot to go on for 3bet stats. I likely call pre and play some poker , overcards can be an obstacle to navigate postflop but i don't think that should be our sole focus when we decide whether to 4bet or call. We should be able to play it well enough postflop to make calling a good option Vs a wide 3betting range.

Imo 4bet is bad here as we are deep. You wouldnt be happy to get a set and gii somewhere on wet board 200 bb deep. 4b here with axs so you can make nuts if you know he has 3bfolding range. Jj call 3b and play postflop by controling situation as much as you can to see SD.

We should just call preflop when that deep. No need to 4b. Plus the hand sample and 3b situations are not that many to base our decision on that.

OTF if we do not cbet this what are we cbetting then?
