Mid pair facing river donk

I don't mind 3-betting this hand on the button. :-) Easy fold on the river, I don't see any bluffs in his range.

This hand falls into my calling range Btn Vs C/o . I have a cold call of 11.6 and a 3bet of 11.5 from these positions. Not to say id never 3bet T9s on the Btn ofcource but i think those figures are ok "ish". Working a'lot on my ranges again recently so tinkering with them quite a'lot last few weeks.

3-betting preflop is according to individual taste. By the way: don't "work" too much on your preflop ranges. It is a waste of time. Do what you feel is right at the moment. This depends on players, stack sizes, table image, etc. There's no static range that can do the job.

@yohan my ranges aren't set in stone and large adjustments can be made when the need arises at individual tables. They are just a foundation in which to work from. It would be no good thinking i can open 82o Utg because i felt like it at the time.

But working on my own ranges also gives me a better understanding of other peoples ranges during hands. I think its very important to work on them especially for beginning players.

I think it is vastly overrated, especially for beginners. The real money is won or lost postflop. This should be the initial concern, since small stakes tables host players with no sensible preflop strategy anyway.

You'll often see posts in this form where people make downright bad decisions (or give downright bad advise) because they couldn't match the opponents decisions with a reasonable preflop holding. It is amusing when players reason "he can't have a 6 in his hand because he did this or that preflop, therefore I call that huge river bet", then proceed to lose that hand and then they mark the opponent as a fish (because he he did this or that preflop holding a 6). This is part of the reason it is possible to play ridiculously lose preflop and win (provided postflop game is good).

Besides, it is a hell lot more fun to play generally lose based on feeling than memorizing charts.

I agree that we should fold the river. On micros this is a sign of a strong hand and after villain called 2 streest and donk when draw completes, then fold is right.
