Hi,

I'm returning to poker after a few years, has been a silver badge for few weeks last time. Basically wasn't playing regularly enough and didn't use statistical tools to help me reading opponents moves.

This time I want to properly set my tools before start, so I was wondering what were your main tools these days...?

I still won't be able to play more than a few hours a week but I'm gonna seek to set them properly and hold to them.

Hi LeScal,
Welcome back!

I'm not sure what you mean by "setting your tools".

I use PokerTracker 4 for Holdem games, but there's not a lot of setting to do...

Maybe if you had a more specific question....

Best of luck,
VS

Hi mate,

well I might have expressed myself badly... :)

Thing is I was kinda of remembering some statistical tracker (with some kind of elephant involved in the logo or sth - no I hadn't taken any lsd...!) that was somehow related to PokerStrategy's coaching/tips/analysises/... but maybe I'm confusing with sth else (t'was long ago...).

I'll have a look at PokerTracker (it rings a big bell anyway...), thanks!

Scal

EDIT: Ooopss...! I hadn't seen the "Poker Tools" menu item sorry.... :) m'yeah, t'was a long time since I rock'n'roll...

Hi LeScal,
No you're not having a flashback.
There as a program called "Elephant" supported by PokerStrategy.com -- it may even have been developed here.

Support for that ended quite a while ago. Both PokerTracker4 and HoldemManager2 do the job better -- but not at no charge unfortunately.
I suggest that you take the free trial of one, then when it runs out, do the free trial with the other.

They're both worth the money, IMO.

If you're really strapped for cash, or if you play a lot of variants other than Holdem or Omaha, then there is a free alternative called fpdb (google it).
fpdb is not a trivial matter to install and maintain though.

Best of luck,
VS
