SB: $26 (52 bb)
BB: $159.28 (318.6 bb)
UTG: $52.74 (105.5 bb)
MP: $172.10 (344.2 bb)

Hero (BTN): $88.37 (176.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 8♥: 7♠: 9♠: 8♣:
3 folds, Hero raises to $1.75, SB calls $1.50, BB calls $1.25

Flop: ($5.25) 5♦: J♠: 6♠: (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $4.99, Hero calls $4.99, SB raises to $24.25 and is all-in, BB raises to $82.73, Hero folds

Turn: ($58.74) K♠: (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: ($58.74) A♦: (2 players, 1 is all-in)

SB whale 76/6
BB recreational but v loose passive: 35/5, 105 hands, 0% 3bet. Seems to be nut peddling. Aggression 0.4.

Weird spot on flop. When such a player leads out I give him a very strong range. Otoh, I do have a monster draw. I felt like calling flop was good, both to keep in SB and also to use position to the maximum benefit.

Once SB shoves and BB overshoves 160bb I think it's clear that best case scenario we see top set. My fold seems super nitty but I was concerned that if he could also do this with top pair plus nfd or even AA with nfd we'd be in much less good shape.

What line do you like here, given this player's tendencies and stacks?
Thanks.

Both are passive, which should weight their ranges to made hands. If your FD is dominated you still have 10 outs. If one has set and other has set+FD, you still have 35% equity.

Side pot makes it interesting, as you are flipping against a set. So even as the side pot with BB is big, it's EV0 for you in the best case scenario. For the main pot best case scenario is highly +EV, worst case scenario is barely +EV (both have sets and one has higher FD).

so many IF's that I would fold. In the best case scenario it's +EV to shove, but if BB has a set with higher FD you are screwed.
