Hi guys,
I post this hand to ask you with an example how to play/think about the players that bet 1 bb postflop.
So here my thoughts about this hand:
Hero (MP): 112 BB
CO: 217 BB (VPIP: 26.67, PFR: 20.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 15)
BTN: 99.5 BB (VPIP: 12.50, PFR: 12.50, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 8)
SB: 109 BB (VPIP: 53.33, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 15)
BB: 110.5 BB (VPIP: 66.67, PFR: 27.78, 3Bet Preflop: 25.00, Hands: 18)
UTG: 110 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 22.22, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 18)
We play JTs on MP vs both blinds. I have like no hands and both play with a full stack. I will rate them like regs.
Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J♥ T♥
fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, SB calls 2.5 BB, BB raises to 5 BB, Hero calls 2 BB, SB calls 2 BB
Preflop I std-or and gets called + raise by just 2BB. OTF I am IP so I decide to call here. I do not see any need to fold or raise vs 2 guys. So nothing special here ...
Flop: (15 BB, 3 players) K♠ 6♦ Q♦
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets 7 BB, SB calls 7 BB, BB calls 7 BB
On flop both of them check and I decide to Bet here to make them fold. As well I got a OESD so its not a pure bluff here. I bet here with 7/15 = 46 % to have it cheap if someone calls and I do not hit ...
Turn: (36 BB, 3 players) 4♥
SB bets 1 BB, BB calls 1 BB, Hero ...
Now we got something new to think about. The 1 BB bet ... On the first view it seems like I can ignore this one and bet/check-behind here. I saw this some times and feel like there are two typ of guys playing this with 2 different reasons:
- "Reg" --> bets 1 BB if there is no action in a multiway pot. If all just call he will bet the next time like huge for 80 % + because he assumes that nobody will call here. So used the 1 BB like a read ... . This guy probably does not play for value. He just want to bluff-bet the pot to get it after the "read".
- Ultimate Super Fish -> has no idea how to play at all and got a hit and bets now with a wrong size.
What you think about this 1BB bets? Do you ignore them? If my assumtion is right with the 2 guys I should be able to counter them and use it like a better-counter-read. If not probably I should ignore the bb.
Anyway what you think about a sec. barrel here?
