I played a loooonnnng session today, and earned 7 chests -- so four red, and the next 3 blue.
Half an hour from the deadline to get the fourth blue chest, I still needed 300 points or so, and I didn't want to move up in stakes just to get a pretty chest.

Then I thought -- I have 18 chests waiting to open, and each one has some points in it along with the Starscoin.

Sooo...
I started opening them, and still had two left to open when I got my last blue chest.

So I'll do that from now on -- there is really nothing in them I need anyway, but every so often, getting the boost might be useful.

That’s interesting. I open the chests always right away.
I don’t think there is a particle strategy with this.

I don't get the idea. bronze chests are worse than blue chests, at least for me. I need 3.5x more points, for 2.5x bigger prizes, so why do I need to do that?

I have understood that it doesn’t really matter what chests you have, rewards are the same % in all of them. You get around 4% back no matter what you do.

Very interesting. I think it's a good idea to calculate the EV of every chest by summing the product of probability x prize value for different prizes and chests and then comparing that to the reward points needed to open chests of different types. Hopefully this will give you an indication of which chest is better for you rakeback-wise, since the RP requirements are different for every player. That's excluding all featured rewards and RP bonus points or boosts.

Example in spoiler...

Red chest probability and prizes
0.0001: $50.00
0.05: $0.70
0.07: $0.42
0.13: $0.14
0.15: $0.12
0.18: $0.09
0.2: $0.08
0.2199: $0.07
EV = 0.0001 x $50.00 + 0.05 x $0.70 + ... + 0.2199 x $0.07 = $0.15
Then say 180 points to reach the chest, or $1.80 with no boosts, that gives a rakeback of 8.3%.

Currently, it requires 240 points for me to open red chests -- so I would need to do the calculations differently.
I have seen other values too -- as low as 145 points IIRC
I feel a spreadsheet coming on ... ♠_biggrin:

I would definetly not open them while you still have your doublepoints-binus active that triggers every 8 hours. I am not sure but I think that you dont recieve double points from chests but you still finish the bonus faster. If thats true you are wasting a small part of the doublepointsbonus.

Are you sure it affects your boost? I assumed it wouldn't affect that but ofc now I'm not sure ♦

Well the whole point of the original thread, is that sometimes -- ok rarely -- you can get benefit from a few extra points in a day.

I'm going to save all mine until Novembuary the 42nd.
