Nowadays I'm feeling that poker is waiting for your spot, where either your opponent makes a big mistake, or you make a big hand vs an opponent who overvalues his hand. Between these moments you try to win some money or loose as little as possible.
Any thoughts?
I'm not 100% sure of what you mean. Sure the games have gotten a bit tougher, but there are several spots where you have many options that make you money on the long run, but one of them might be slightly more +EV. By studying those spots and always trying to choose the max EV line, you can make more money.
I don't know what limits you are playing, but at the micros there are also many exploitative plays that let you print money.
I'm playing the micros, currently NL 5. I just meant they by trying to exploit other players mistakes you can win some amount, or loose some if they hit something big, but most of the profit comes from where I have a big hand and the opponent has a big/ok hand but overvalues it. I hope I explained it well, I'm not sure. 
Thoughts: Back to basics is the first thing that comes to mind. Utilizing a starting hand chart may help a lot for these goals.
Without being long winded, I agree with you. Winning the most and losing the least is what we should ALWAYS be thinking first and foremost.
Can't really see this happening at the micros that often tbh. If this does keep happening, then maybe you should try table selecting, although it might be stretching it
