Thoughts:

Spoiler

Most of the time, I cbet 3/4 pot here, but, sometimes I c-bet only 1/2 pot.
It depends on how many opponents I have, how strong I think their hands are and how loose they would play postflop.

BB checks, Hero bets 4.5 BB, BB calls 4.5 BB

Turn: (17.5 BB, 2 players) J♥
Thoughts: I'd bet/folded here. After villain's call, I'm pretty sure I'm behind.
BB checks, Hero bets 9.5 BB, BB calls 9.5 BB

River: (36.5 BB, 2 players) A♠
BB checks, Hero checks

Spoiler

BB shows 4♥ K♥ (Flush, King High)
(Pre 55%, Flop 51%, Turn 91%)
Hero mucks 7♦ 6♦ (Two Pair, Sevens and Sixes)
(Pre 45%, Flop 49%, Turn 9%)
BB wins 34.5 BB

OTF: or you were way ahead and he’ll fold every air or you were way behind and he’ll call with of hands that will complicate your pot equity. The villain won’t fold hearts suited connectors or straight draws included the weaker ones based on his calling station stats and consequently, the FE is quite zero.
I think to keep the pot small and don’t give a free card I’ll bet 1/3 to ½ pots to keep pot control.
OTT: I wouldn’t bet here. 2 pair is a strong hand but on this board, without a backdoor flush, I would play check/fold included at the river. As the villain is a calling station he won’t bet frequently in this spot with good hand and you gone see showdown cheaply.

Thanks for you answer, Arnalsan.

But don't you agree that the sample size is insignificant (3 hands) and we shouldn't derive any conclusion from it?

So, the hand were played against an unknown and not a calling station, IMHO.

Apart from that, betting anything less than 1/2 half wouldn't protect our hand, because it would give the correct pot odds to villain to call, wouldn't? A profitable call with anything that has 8 outs or more...

Agreed with you, I didn't realize sample size. sorry.
Anyway, even against an unknown player, I would play the same as I wrote.
