Depends on what type of player villain is, I may consider folding otf. When he donk bet half pot on this board, it very likely he had something. I would call with 9x with a stronger kicker, but 96 I would fold. Even vs high card flush draw, your hand was not favored.

As played, I may raise to represent a flush ott with intention to bet fold otr. By calling that mini bet, you were playing your hand face up.
