What is your way of creating PFR ranges?
As month review, you get rid of hands that are -bb/100?

Hey Willy411,
Creating preflop ranges can be quite difficult and time consuming. When you think about what hands to open you also have to consider how many players are behind, what actions you might face, how do you defend your range properly, do you have good board coverage etc etc... And of course it doesn't stop there, you have to figure out cold calling and 3betting ranges too. To do that properly you would need a decent amount of poker knowledge and probably flopzilla+some GTO solver.
Of course one way to create ranges is to look how much profit you are making with a specific hand and then if it is negative --> drop it. But that method has some problems. The first one is that do you know that your open preflop is generally always bad or are you just playing specific hand types poorly postflop? The second thing is the hand sample you need. If we think about winrates, generally people say you need even more than 100k hands before you can see what your "true" winrate is. Now you need to see how the hands are doing by position, so by using that logic you would need 600k hands (in 6max tables) before you can see somewhat realistic overall positional winrates. And when you want to see a true winrate of a specific hand on a specific position you might guess that you need millions of hands before you can really make any conclusions.

Far from ideal, but I used a PS lost article about the range of the average TAG for NL10 FR + the standard ORC for FR on Equilab, to come up with an initial version for OR, call and 3-bet.
Then I made the OR range a bit tighter because I'm still a beginner and some hands were too problematic to be played OOP.

Yeah. And, IMHO, 600k probably played at the same limit and on the same site, because both could influence on how your opponents would behave and how you should react/adapt.
