SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has J♥ J♣
fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, SB raises to 10 BB, fold, Hero calls 7 BB
Thoughts:

Spoiler

I think this one was a fold pre. Villain 3bet range is so narrow (4%) and full of hands that would beat me in a A-high or K-high board.
I didn't have the odds to play for set value and I didn't know if my set would get paid, in case I hit, by this villain.

Flop: (21 BB, 2 players) 4♣ A♦ 8♥
Thoughts:

Spoiler

from his 3-bet range, I only beat 99, TT or a complete buff.

SB bets 12.4 BB, fold

Spoiler

SB wins 19.8 BB

Nice hand. I find that, at least in 6 max, your sets in 3bet pots get payoff pretty well. Especially vs such a narrow range. Don't know if it is the same for normal FR tables.

Thanks for your answer, Netgames999.

I usually play for set value against more sticky opponents or villains with a very narrow/strong range, in HU. In mw pots, I tend to low the bar a little , but, in both cases, I prefereably play the PP IP.

I wonder if in 6max games, tptk and overpairs are harder to hit, because you are forced to play more hands pre, and because of that, after hiting thoses hands, the villains will have a hard time separating themselves from their cards. Maybe the implied odds of your PP/set increase in 6max.
