UTG: $39.70 (397 bb)
MP: $10.45 (105 bb)
CO: $13.92 (139 bb)
BU: $10.29 (103 bb)
SB: $11.14 (111 bb)
BB (Hero): $11.74 (117 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with 5 Q
4 players fold, SB raises to $0.26, Hero calls $0.16

Flop: ($0.52) 7 Q J (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.20, SB calls $0.20

Turn: ($0.92) 3 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.40, SB calls $0.40

River: ($1.72) 7 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.55, SB raises to $4.28

Spoiler

, BB (Hero) folds

Total pot: $2.82 (Rake: $0.13)
SB wins $2.69

This one is good. I'm not sure if I should value bet river. Before X raise I was.
I can get value from Jx and low pp. But I'm pretty sure that J should cbet flop. If I'll be a villain I would cbet 7, pocket pairs also. So I can see slowplay and bluffs. In both cases I should X behind river. What do you think?

You could probably fold pre vs 2,6x at NL10 (high rake).
As played you bet too small overall.

Fold pre. Calling this is exploitable.
Flop donk is to make him fold exactly what? Value bet what? Protection?
Dont like it.
Turn bet is very small. You offer good odds, going to get called by a lot of hands.
River is ridiculous.

Wow platinum star ITT!

Flop small bet can be fine, people don't check enough good hands or draws
And I'd just pot or overbet the turn with so many draws now even with tpnk

@zeto : it's not a donk flop, it's a probe. And you say it doesn't value anything on that flop (which I disagree with) but too many hands are gonna call on a brick turn ? You need to choose.

@Lemon : ITT = In The what ? ?(

Check Back Flop. Try to get to showdown very cheaply. Evaluate turn/river if bet into.

Going for three streets of value against an uncapped range where his worst top pair combo is going to be like Q5s is a recipe for disaster.

What does he call OTF with? Draws, J, Q? I hate betting this. He calls, then leads the turn and what do you do? He calls, check OTT and you what do you do?
I think that check flop and betting if he checks OTT has much more merit.

Is that standard to pot or overpot in similar situations?
I don't know much really about sizings, one of my issues in nl.
To all: would you recommend video or article about sizing please?

So confusing comments here :f_biggrin:

Bet flop, bet turn (probably bigger) and check behind OTR because I'm not that confident we can get 3 streets of value and going for thin value IP when we can get raised is often not so good idea. Easy.

@kapajunior
I don't know if there are any videos dedicated just for bet sizes :( Lemon could discuss about these in some of his future coachings? :)
Bet sizes are maybe a bit advanced thing and not the most important part of the game for beginners.

Pre defending is ok but villain dependant in vacuum quite close

postflop I agree with Lassi
Bet Flop
Bet Turn
checkfold river.
Check call river maybe with K+ kicker but not with no kicker

Preflop defending is not ok imo, esp when ppl don´t steal enough from the SB (which is NL10 case imo). Definitely bet stab flop, we have fairly strong hand. Bet turn. River is too thin, you have basically worst TP you can have there.

the EV of betting 66% pot is highest.

on the flop btw it is evenly split between betting and checking back.

oh it even uses a good chunk of 1.5x overbet
I was thinking like 1.2x
and nodelock more Qx than pio will use in cc range on the flop, I assume people won't check TPs enough at the limit?

ITT= in the thread

Thanks for comments. It's nl 16 anyway because there's no nl16 prefix to create thread :)
About bet sizing. Maybe it's not for beginners but it has been comment in all my hands posted from nl5 to nl16.
I'm playing now a little bit intuitional, trying to get more from big hands and bluff a little bit less. Sometimes of course, after villains long thinking and folding to my pot bet OTR, I'm thinking should I bet less?

Yeah you played your hand and absolute hand strength instead of considering an overall strategy if you bet big ott you protect your hand
Bet like you do with draws
Dont induce raises like you will now which really sucks with our hand
And get same value as with 2 small bets really

And we can absolutely do a show on betsizing sure!

We are moving to one-off monthly specials instead of arbitrarily occurring longer series so we can experiment a lot more with the topics :)

It might even happen this month still

I think it's a loose defend vs a 2.6x I would fold pre.
