Hi guys,
My doubt on this one is the river sizing I should use after getting check-call OTF and donk OTT.
I really think villain played this hand very nice and could put me on a short range of hands.
I think that check-behind river is too bad, we have a monster. Is this an overbet spot after what he did?
A weaker flush can call here imo. How does my range looks OTR after cbet OTF and raise his donk OTT? Is my line legit with AK for instance? I obviously look very strong, so what do you assign him when he check-raises OTR? Does a K do that? I don't think so. Probably wants a free showdown or bets small OTR imo. Does a flush do that? QJ's? probably not too.
He can have a full, but I can't fold this hand after my river bet.
Thanks.

I don't like his line. Donk/calling on that turn isn't "very nice", just to say.
You should have raised a little bit more on the turn by the way.
Very ironic river lol. I'd say when you know you won't fold to a raise, generally you might as well go for the overbet shove directly.

I've been thinking of this hand nonstop.
- He does the Johnny Chan play and gets raised. What does he think I'm doing? My range here has basically 0 bluffs.
- That said, what is he check-raising with? I raise his donk OTT and bet OTR, I'm value betting 99% of the time here.
On the other hand, does he call that raise OTT with a set (33, 77, 88) OOP? KK we know he doesn't have because the river is a K and I have the other.
He knows he may be beaten by a higher flush, so why does he raise my bet?
The obvious conclusion is: he has a full-house. He knows I don't have one, but that I have a flush. I think he precisely did put me on AK'd. Got to given him credit for that. He knows I'm always betting the river. So a check-raise is going to work and I'm never folding after that given the odds.
I mean, bravo.

About the turn raise: why bigger? Because is going to play virtually identically the same way against 3x or 4x for instance and you maximize value? But how big is the value here after his johnny chan play?

I know these are too many questions and are going deeper on the topic, but I can't remember a hand like this one in many years.

if he did hit a FH great for him. To me, with that turn donk, he is saying that he has a flush and that ur TPTK is worthless.
Im curious about his hand.

edit following the same line OTR he is happy u have a 3of a kind with his flush.

It's just that you are supposed to raise bigger as a default sizing, I hadn't though much beyond that lol.
You should have value with any sizing anyway, so might as well go for the biggest, and raising small can make (thinking) people even more wary as a lot of (reg)fishes are known to still use the infamous "minraise of death" with the top of their range.

huge betsizing mistakes from hero, not setting up the river shove with the ott raise sizing and then putting himself in a "negative freeroll" spot otr where it feels like being pot commited but villain most likely won't raise worse.
if i have a hand that wants to raise the turn i'm definitely making it something like 28 BB, i don't think their range is weak but i don't really care, if someone folds i'm also taking a note. both as value and bluffs you probably want to keep open the possibility of jamming the river.

How do you play the river Tom? Bet the 78bb and make him go all-in? I agree with that in fact.
Sizings is a really complicated matter to me yet, so any help you guys can provide is gold!

yeah well, i'm not so keen to ship it on that particular river but i'd still ship it if i raised bigger ott.
as played, i'm more towards bet/folding about 26 BB. overbet jamming should probably still be better than bet/calling anyway, it's much easier for villain to call the overbet with worse flushes than to check/jam them himself.
