A big chunck of the decisions are made based on wheter the villain will fold or call your bets, but how do i know that, what are the parameters you guys use to make this read?

For this you need a poker tool like HM2 or Pokertracker4, but even than you need to know the chip dynamic and other factors like ICM (SNG/MTT's) to have a view about this.

Basic idea is simple: you define your opponent's range (what hands he should have), then estimate which part of that he will call and which part he will fold.

Simple example: opponent re-raises preflop, and we estimate that his range is QQ+, AK. Meaning he has AA, KK, QQ, AKs and AKo in his range. That equals 34 possible hole card combinations. Now on the flop we estimate that he calls with QQ+ and folds AK hands. QQ+ is 18 hole card combinations and AK's are 16.

He is folding 16/34 = 47%
He is calling 18/34 = 53%

yeah this is a very good response. Don't try and over complicate it. Just make sure if you are trying to VALUE bet, think what he's calling with, and when trying to get a FOLD, think what sizing he will fold what holdings to, and if he calls, you can narrow his range down.
