I don't follow your argument about losing more rake playing fewer tables.
If the amount of rake you pay on each table is the same, you will pay more rake paying more tables.

If i play zoom same time 30 tables better ps than single table? This is not slow?
And i clear wrote, if the player can play 30 table cash game they do more rake than 4 tables. Not?

I have no connection to PokerStars, so the blog post was the only information I could find.

I agree though -- something major like this should have been emailed to all players.
Then again -- perhaps it was. I don't read every email that comes from them

OK I did a test -- I opened 2 tables of 5-Card Draw, one of 2-7 triple draw, one of 8-game and when I tried to open a Razz table, it said I had reached the ring game cap, but I could play zoom.

However it does show that you cannot have more than 4 tables open even if they are all different games.

By reducing the table cap from 24 to 4, we are reducing the number of multi-tabling players and increasing the number of more casual one-table players at each table. Excellent news. Having to constantly table select at the lowest stakes is a frustrating experience with tables infested by 24 tabling regs. This new rule will force the mass multitablers to move up in order to maintain their previous winnings. While the regs will bitch about it, for the rest of us players, this is a positive move by Pokerstars.

It doesn't affect me at all either, really.
I play games where focus is important, so 5 tables max.
Also, I'm old and not as sharp as I was even 10 years ago.

I have just played a short session on Pokerstars to see if the new rule has made a difference to the games.

First off looking at the lobby it is clear the flop percentages have increased. Furthermore, as predicted by Pokerstars, the tables are less reg infested with an increase in players playing one table only. The games are also less aggressive with little 3/betting preflop. As such I was able to open my range utg to include baby pairs.

I think this change is a huge positive for the vast majority of players. At peak hours on a week day, typically a 2NL full ring game would contain 6/7 regs. Now it is just 2/3 solid players.

Almost half of regs disappear the stars only 1 day.
And yes more fish the table but some fish played so far 6-7 tables, now they play max 4 table so they will better play if just watch 4 tables. Online poker is dead and every month and years will more dead. Similar almost if you play lotto, sports bet bingo or anything else.
