Table 6 max

Hero 3♣:3♥:
Vilain from MP open raise 3bb, Hero from BB Call, rest fold

Flop: A♣:3♠:2♠:
pot: 6,4bb

hero bet 4bb, vilain raise to 14bb, hero shove, vilain fold

I wonder if shoving here is the most profitable action, or raising to 45bb would be better ( I dont have information about how often vilain fold)

i think yes, cause vilain has the appropriate stack (100b= 33 times his bet)

Definitely a profitable pre-flop call in the BB. There is no risk of anyone raising after you pushing you out of seeing the flop after investing in the pot. The only reason you don't overcall with all pocket pairs in other positions.

If you hadn't donked the flop and check-raised the hand instead you wouldn't be so face up with your monster and let him fold any AX. Also, you have some protection for your weaker holdings. If you donk/reraise all sets (and 2 pairs), what are you gonna defend with vs multiple streets if you don't donk?

Ye absolutely i would defend any pp from the bb,remewmber we already have 1bb invested.Calling villains raise reps far more flush draws so the donk lead followed by a 3bet on the flop possibly allows villain to fold worse made hands. And villain would maybe just flat their draws vs the donk lead so draws aren't perhaps a big worry for us.My line would usually just be a check call/raise though to rep more draws as this line is rarely taken by a draw

Thank you folks, for clarifying that. I am a noob and I misinterpreted the beginner strategy guide (didn't read carefully enough).

I expect you have at least 100bb as well. That could be a factor as well. if you have <40bb a call for set value isn't to profitable. On the flop i would always check to the raise HU. If you get action you could think of a small 3bet, but a shove for around 80bb more isn't to bad I think.
