hi,

well in-game I just called because I have less than 3bb. As it turns out I have to fold 40%. Why is that?

ICMIZER

iPoker - 80/160 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

Hero (BB): 455 (2.8 bb)
BTN: 3,685 (23 bb)
SB: 660 (4.1 bb)

3 players post ante of 20, SB posts 80, Hero posts BB 160

Pre Flop: (pot: 300) Hero has 2♦: 3♦:
BTN raises to 3,665, fold, Hero calls 275

Flop: (1,010, 2 players) 7♠: 4♥: 2♣:

Turn: (1,010, 2 players) A♦:

River: (1,010, 2 players) 9♦:

Results: 1,010 pot (0 rake)
Final Board: 7♠: 4♥: 2♣: A♦: 9♦:

BTN shows 9♣: 6♣:: (One Pair, Nines)
(Pre 64%, Flop 30%, Turn 14%)

Spoiler

Hero mucks 2♦: 3♦:: (One Pair, Twos)
(Pre 37%, Flop 70%, Turn 86%)

BTN wins 1,010

The ICM in this game, but based on Cev this would be a call most likely.

Well, you are on the bubble and are battling with another shorty. But, you certainly knew that :f_grin:

For these kind of small stacks situations where hitting the blinds really makes an impact I usually work with FGS. Have you tried playing around with ICMIZER and that option to see how much that changes the result? If I understand correctly the calculation which is linked has the option turned off. I would believe that we can call wider than according to classic ICM. I currently do not have an subscription otherwise I would have tried it for you.

Nonetheless 32s is pretty bad and I would usually find a grumpy fold in these spots.

yeah I am aware of that. ty anyway. Just wanted to be sure. Icm is less a factor with these stack sizes. If I have 2bb or less its a clear call.
