If you watch statistics here:
https://www.highstakesdb.com/poker-players.aspx?sortby=winners
You can see from there, all time biggest online winners.
What did put me wonder is that in the first page, 16 peoples most played games were next:
Horse , Omaha PL, and 8-Game.
Always thought for somewhat reason that No Limit Holdem is the game the most money to be made, seems not ?
What you think ?

It depends on the individual I guess
My two biggest tournament cashes were in 2-7 Lowball and HORSE

My Pokerstars bankroll comes from those two wins plus several years of Limit 5-Card Draw

I can't deny that countless people have made way more than that playing Hold'em, though.

Most players are playing NLHE. Than there are the most cash on all tables together.
Off course in other variants you have also high stakes, but I expect the skill level of a 8-game player for example is lower than in NLHE. You need to be good in 8 game formats and only a few players are fantastic in it and in NLHE you have a lot more good players.

That could be the reason good 8 game players can win more with in mind they play against less capable players.

Oh how I wish that were true!
8-Game cash player exist only on PokerStars and a couple of very small sites.
Most people playing those games are quite good -- but they tend to specialize.
Some are best at the stud games, some at the Omaha games.

In the 8-game tournaments a lot of NLHE players enter hoping to just fold through the other 7 and make it up in the NLHE segment.
pretty tough.
