Hello,

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $2 (100 bb)
BB: $1.74 (87 bb)
UTG: $15.22 (761 bb)
MP: $2 (100 bb)
CO: $3.36 (168 bb)
Hero (BTN): $3.63 (181.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with K K
UTG calls $0.02, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.10, SB folds, BB calls $0.08, UTG calls $0.08

Flop: ($0.31) Q J J (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $0.22, BB folds, UTG raises to $0.44, Hero?

Reads on villain:

Spoiler

96/26
raise flop cbet 26
135 hands
[GENERAL]
1/2 pot bets = valuebets!
min raise or xr = strong holding
[P]
3bet stacks K3o
[F]
min x/r w set
HUOOP hits 2p OTF and plays x/c, x, x
d F 3bet pot 3way w 3rdP
[T]
[R]
min raise = value

I believe he's is having a strong holding here. But folding seems weak - I've got overpair + backdoor FD and SD.

When I put him on quite value range it looks like this:

Board: Q♣J♣J♦
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    56.08%  55.78%   0.30% { QQ-JJ, AQs-AJs, KTs+, Q9s+, J9s+, AcTc, AQo-AJo, KJo+, QJo, JTo }
BU     43.92%  43.63%   0.30% { KhKc }

If I remove some non-suited Qs, like this:

Board: Q♣J♣J♦
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    67.21%  66.96%   0.25% { QQ-JJ, AQs-AJs, KTs+, Q9s+, J9s+, AcTc, AJo, KJo, QJo, JTo }
BU     32.79%  32.54%   0.25% { KhKc }

What do you say?

I like the preflop 5x raise-over-limper.

I'm not so sure of UTG being all that strong.
Strong would open raise, or possibly even limp/raise

I smell flush draw or even pure air.
He may have a J -- maybe even two of 'em.

He is really playing 96/26 ?
Players with super-stacks will quite often just try to use their massive stack to push people around, since 100bb is only 6% of their stack

Thank you for your replies.
What I think of this hand I get the feeling that both fold and raise would be terribly wrong. So a call is only option.

Flop is a check for me. You simply block KQ so hard, KT, K9 and stuff that you want to be called by. KK is the perfect hand for range protection OTF.

What about flush draws and T9? Theres plenty and we are 3way.

It doesn't really translate to cash games the effective stacks are 100bb no one's tournament life is on the line.

On the flop with at least 1 fish in the hand I would Cbet the same amount for value and protection. His min raise is weird, but folding seems to weak and you playing in position against him and with the call you can still fold if he makes a decent turn bet.

Cheers,
