Set C/R on the flop, awful turn. How to approach it?

Your check/raise sizing is huge on flop. Not sure why you would raise that much. $1 seems big enough.
It depends on villain, but after his call on flop I would most likely check/fold on a reasonable turn bet. All draws he could call arrived here.

I knew it was a dangerous board so I wanted to raise enough on the flop to reasonable shove the turn on any card that isn’t a club or that put a 4 to a straight on the board.

Agree it’s a ck/f on the turn. It’s just annoying because when I ck I know villian bets his whole range.

I agree with smaller raise OTF. I think 1.1-1.3 is enough. You want to keep his draws in play. Sometimes they will find a fold with their draws to such a huge raise which you dont want.

Turn is of course the worst card in the deck but I dont think it is strictly check/fold. We should start pot controling. I would play according to pot odds/implied odds. So check and if he bets small enough = call, if he bets a lot = fold. You still have ten outs against his flushes and str8s. And he will definitely pay you off even if the board pairs. So you can call a bet that is bigger than calling for pure pot odds would suggest. This is another reason why you shold make the flop raise smaller. So you can potcontrol better, if the board runs out badly.

if you check turn and expect your opponent to bet his entire range, then why would check/fold ever be a good choice? besides even if he did have a flush or straight, you have 20% to hit a full house. So I'm 100% not folding Turn vs 100%pot bet or less (draw equity + bluff catching vs made hands turned into bluffs). By the way it's also a good spot to check some flushes and straights here sometimes

as played your hand on the Turn can only withstand 1 more bet at most. And especially when you are the one betting on the Turn, it narrows down your opponent's range even further and is quite different if you opted to check-call the Turn, where your opponent could be on a bluff and may continue firing the river again.

When someone bet/calls Flop and calls Turn, he either has a pair which he plans on showing down (check back) or he has straight+ which will then bet river when checked to. So this makes your decision super easy in my opinion. How many people are gonna bet/call Flop, call Turn and bluff River? AcKx? Seems unlikely. AcA probably doesn't turn itself into a bluff in this fashion, at least most people wouldn't
