Hi everyone i bought a second monitor to duel monitor on twitch but i cant for the life of me find the correct cable needed to extend the screen. The only connector boxes i can find are ones that say they only duplicate the monitor and don't extend.Ive posted a link below to show the kind of connector boxes i'm looking at can anyone give some advise or a link to which cable or connector box i need. One which extends one monitor on to the second monitor essentially making two monitors in to one monitor.

Thanks in advance.

Hey RedsYNWA,

I had the same problem when I went to dual monitors and this is how I got around it.

I have my left monitor connected to the normal VGA port. My right hand monitor is connected to a DisplayPort. It is necessary to get a VGA-DisplayPort adapter to act as a bridge. Adaptor shown below.

If you don't have DisplayPorts on the back of the box, you may be able to do the same with DVI or HDMI ports.

I would be interested to hear of multiple monitor setups from others.

Good Luck

Laz

You can also use a USB vga adapter if you don't have HDMI or Display port
I had one at work as far back as 2015

It comes with its own device driver and instructions (or mine did anyway)

If your computer has display port connection, try to find a monitor that has display port inputs to save the adapter cost.
Display port is faster than vga

I don't know how it compares to HDMI

Best of luck.
If you haven't already ordered one, perhaps post images of the ports on your computer, and the ports on the monitor you want to use.

It might have been defective.

Who knows.

Good to hear you're on your way!
