It actually sounds pretty darn good!

I got 99k hands now at mixed low stakes and my rakeback comes out to only 6.1%.

For the rake attributed of $1771.65, I got back $108.73.

That is what you would expect to get from PS in rewards.

It's actually very little.

I'm sorry I don't know how I got the 1st figure so wrong but I must have added wrong from what I won vs the rakeback.

That sounds about right. For winning players the rakeback can be as little as 2% in average. Best I ever had was 17% after a losing month. It also depends what games do you play as most of the challenges are holdem only.

Do you consider all the other rewards?
Over the month of May I received two $11 scoop tickets in various ways,
3 or 4 $5.50 tickets

Also, do you count the winnings from the Stars Rewards Spin tickets?
If so, you can add a couple of bucks more to that.

In the past, rakeback pretty much rewarded volume only, and low-volume players were left out almost entirely.

There were even people who were break-even or even losing players who made a living just on rakeback.

One thing that does annoy me is that almost all of the challenges are for hold'em players only.

I just look at how much money I started the PS account with and how much money I actually have in the account and the amount won playing poker in my PT4 and I subtract it which should leave the amount I got in rewards which include free money, money I won from freeroll KO(very little, lol), and the coins converted to cash.

Have you don a "Playing History Audit"?
In the client, go to tools | History & Stats | Playing History Audit
You select the start and end dates, then provide a password (not your PokerStars password) for the zip file you will download later.
Then you'll be asked for your PokerStars password to verify it is you asking.

You will get a file you can load into a spreadsheet that shows every transaction to and from your account during the period you specify.

What it unfortunately does not show is the value of tickets you earn in contests and chests...
