I open BU and SB call. He has seemed to be quite call happy but also went for big bluff in 3way pot earlier. I cbet flop half pot, turn goes checked and thought to go for small river bet. I didnt think this villain weas checking at least J high flush or better and thought he might be calling sets and even some two pair. But not sure if this was still bit optimistic?

I would not bet for thin value on the river, there are not a lot of hands you beat here.

it is totally standard to triple check all kind of flushes from nutflush to low flush and sets aswell oop.

but since he checked 3 times we is also limiting the stronger flush versions and to balance our wide bluffing range I bet straights here aswell. usually sets are calling again. if he calls a bare 2pair is player-depandant but the valuebet otr is fine.

Really depends on how wide he is calling on the flop, and how wide he is calling on the river. If you had reads to go for it, then yeah. Readless I would not do it.

In order to valuebet the river, you need to beat over 50% of his calling range.

If he calls with 40% prelop, and 45+ on the flop, he has 2/3 of his river range flushes and 1/3 2 pairs or sets. So you can't valuebet. This is assuming he would just call on the flop with nut flush and check it on the river.

If we assume that he can't have nut flush there on the river, he still has a bit more flushes than 2pair/set in his range. Can't valuebet.

If we give him wider flop range (23+,45+,Q) he still has more flushes than 2pair/set. And he starts to have some JT in his range too.

With wide flop range and removal of nut flush from his range, the scale finally barely turns to him having more weaker hands in his river calling range. Assuming he is calling your bet even with 54xx.

To make your river bet profitable, there's a long list of "if's" that need to happen. And even in the best case scenario it's marginally profitable.

Easy check on the river.

There are players who call with bare :Qx: or an overpair. We might bet against such players with read. In that instance we get some thin value by betting very small on the river like 1/5-1/6 pot since his SB-coldcall looks weak-passive to me but yea usually check-back is std.

I think he can have the nutflush when he is a passive station or a reg capable of x/c-x/c-x/r .

I haven't seen that many call downs with just TP on monotone boards. But of course if you have a note that he does it, we valuebet straights on the river.

And I agree that it wouldn't be that amazing if he check-raises river. Or even check-calls with nut flush and is scared of straight flush. I think it's more likely that he has nut flush than that he calls with Qxxx or 54xx.
