I don't know about "large", but multiway with the nut flush on an unpaired board I think a bet is required.
I favour 1/3 to 1/2 pot to try to make it look like a weak hand taking a stab. You may even get raised.

I found that I'm checking in the similar spot too often.
However, if the river could complete multiple draws, your opp would check back even J-high flush. So depending on the previous flow, you could either bet big (pot or even 1.5x pot) or bet small 1/4 to 1/3 pot.

In this specific case, I would bet pot and hope to be called by BB (quite active on both Flop and Turn). If it was not a regular table, sometimes I would push to a TAG reg.

you're all quite deep, and you're OOP. easy raise on the turn, and jam OTR.
either player could have a lower flush, or not fold a set... you're really not going to make money on a lot of rivers being out of position, BB even checked the straight which could very reasonably be the best hand here.

"scaring away worse hands" just happens sometimes, and if they really are "folding worse hands" a ton, you should start bluffing at least pairs with one diamond. that's all hypothetical, because i've played this pool for a long time and it's mostly made of calling stations.
you even guessed that at least one player is strong, which is just more reason to be raising, as people hate to fold strong hands.

i agree with gold tomaloc , but why no 3bet preflop ,u r oop ..

1. I woul 3 bet preflop. 2. I would raise ott. 3. As played I would bet really big otr - maybe even shoving. Why not😂
