Hello Guys,

so second try to write a short introduction.
So another microstakes blog will start, because of two reasons:

1. I want to improve my poker skills.
2. I want to improve my english skills

So, first some sentences to the second reason. I will start a new job in Oktober and there i will need at least some basic english skills. The problem with this is, that after i left school in germany for over 20 years and did not learn english after leaving school.
So, feel free to correct all my mistakes (language and poker)

Improving poker skills:
I just play for fun, but playing better and better will make me win at least a small amount of money :f_biggrin:
I will play zoom for many reasons, one is to be able to play short sessions and take a break after every hand...
I want to improve my play. so i play just one table zoom. I play on a laptop, because actual i have got to travel around for my work.

So questions are allowed, i try to answer all poker related questions. I try to update this blog at least one time a week (hope it will be more often, but can`t promise that).

So, here will appear a graph (every 5k hands will be an update)

Actual graph (nl10)

Spoiler

Sessions so far:

Spoiler

So here i will write down my actual leak i`m working on:
Leak: don`t fold vs. turn or river raises
So, i have to take some more time before making a click and think about folding vs. agression

So, blog is on track.

Actual i write my on word-dokument with things i have got to learn and to do. (I write it in german, but basic are mostly from weasels videos => seem he has gone from pokerstrategy :f_frown:)

So Actual i learn the ranges he recommended in his preflop series, after that i will work with the videos from flopfinesse series....

I try to make theory at least 15 minutes before starting a session.

So, lets go and play a bit (have some days free at the moment)

Hello guys,

the first 5k hands are played (2nd post is updatet) . It seems that i`m running extremly hot. Could go on, but i guess it won`t.

I decided to spend some money in updating to HM3.
Has got anyone experience in constructing a HUD which is able to show the range from villains?
(i saw an example in a video, but i don`t know which software it was.)
Would be nice if somebody could explain how it works or maybe post a link to a video....

I will set some shottime targets:
- learn more abut HM3 (three hours this week)
- focus on BB play this week (learning the ranges)
- 15 minutes theory before starting a seesion (did not reached last week, let it out 3 times...)

So got luck at the tables to you.

Talisker

Wow! Nice looking giraffe!

There is no reason that your run can't continue, as long as you're able to avoid the mental trap of expecting it to continue -- and it seems you have that under control...

Cheers,

Hello guys,

i have a hand which i don`t know if i played it quiet O.K.

My thoughts to the hand. I guess villain is a reg, i had some hands on him, but not really enough to use the stats.
Preflop is standard i guess.
Flop bet is so small that i get a good price to call. This will mean that villain has not a super strong hand (no AJ, KK and no set...)
Turn: I guess a good card for me to donk, because i can have QT, KQ, KJ.... or JJ and 99) I block a lot of straights....

Question: Is the donk a good move to take the pot down with the bet (that was my intention to bet here)?

Hand1:

Spoiler

PokerStars - $0.10 Ante $0.01 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

BTN: $10.00 (100 bb)
SB: $11.15 (111.5 bb)
BB: $11.01 (110.1 bb)
Hero (UTG): $12.37 (123.7 bb)
MP: $21.20 (212 bb)
CO: $10.00 (100 bb)

6 players post ante of $0.01, SB posts $0.05, BB posts $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.21) Hero has T♦: T♠:
Hero raises to $0.30, MP raises to $0.90, 4 folds, Hero calls $0.60

Flop: ($2.01, 2 players) 9♣: J♥: A♠:
Hero checks, MP bets $0.63, Hero calls $0.63

Turn: ($3.27, 2 players) K♥:
Hero bets $1.56...

@ Vopal: Thank you for your optimistic words, i hope the long run will be up, but i guess not as much as the first 5k hands... But important is, that the greenline will be up ....:f_drink:

Hello guys,

Whats up? Some new stuff in the blog. I want to discus two topics:

Tagging the villains, while playing zoom.
I prefer to keep it simple and make these tags, which allows me tag the players even I have got a small sample:

Limper
Shortstack <75bb and below
Big Stack > 375bb and above
Regular – very much hands

Adapation vs Player Type

Limper

• Bad player – fun player
• Is calling way to much, because he is interested to see what we have
• Playing mostly passivly, so bluff-induce is not possible => we have to bet (value)
• Is bluffing the river more frequently than a regular => we can Bluff catch more often
• Do not bluff, bet for value => we can expand our value range
• Big hand -> bet big => extract more value
• marginale hands can be checked => realize our showdown value

Shortstack

• look at the effective stack size => adjust betsizing, bet smaller
• drawing hands sometimes don`t make sence => suited connectors, small PP can be folded pre
• make more value bets, widen value range => f.e. bottom pair
• bluff less and carefully (one street, blind play)
• Is bluffing the river more frequently than a regular => we can Bluff catch more often

Bigstack

• Normally a limit regular
• Very low blufft frequency, betting mostly for value only => overfold
• When he makes action, raises or big bets, especially on the river, often the nuts => overfold
• Has a gameplan, is thinking about lines -> can be bluffed => “good” bluffs possible
• Look for good bluff spots => bet once (twice) as bluff
• Bet all nutted draws (backdoors) as semi-bluff => extract value if completes
• Just betting strong value hands, take care of board-texture and used lines => avoid difficult spots
• Marginale hands, best fold pre => avoid difficult spots

Regular:

• Like Bigstack
• Start wiriting Notes because of playing more hands vs. reg than vs. fish
• Start to exlpoit him based on stats (and notes) having good sample (1k hands+) => categorise as tag, nit, …

HUD

Constructing a small HUD with just the essential needed stats. What stats should that be, and how can we exploit the villains using the given information. This is a topic with lots of opinions I discussions can be very interesting.
For starting the discussion I will post my actual HUD (without pop-ups) during the next days.

Hello guys,

i just tiltet and crushed a big amount of my bankroll.
So never give up and grind it up right from the beginning.
I will restart on NL2 playing two tables zoom an hopefully will beat the limit.

I make up a more conservtive BRM and try really to stick to it.
I will play with the following BRM:

So i guess NL2 is quiet easy to beat i will not tag the villains, except limpers and very bad guys.

Using HM3 has the advantage to see HUD first after a defined numbers of hands.
I will take to 50 hands, so i have got a first look who seems to be a bit reggish (because of the big pool)
So it is time to discuss the HUD, because not much decisios on NL2 zoom will be made based on stats.

So for dicussion.

Here is my current HUD i use:

So this is quite compact, but i guess the most need information is to see directly.

If you have questions to the meaning of the stats feel free to ask.
If you have got sugesstions for additional stats, feel free to tell me, would be nice to know why i need this stat :-)

Hi Talisker,
I dropped all my standard HUDs down to one line -- pretty much the same as your top line.
To make it more compact, I removed all the labels. When I want more info, I use the popup[1] feature of PT4
When streaming, a huge HUD makes it harder for viewers

Left-to-Right stats are: M-Value, Notes, Hands, VPIP, PFR, 3Bet, Fold to 3Bet, Aggression Factor, Aggression Freq
For Cash games, the M-Value is removed

Cheers,
VS

[1] I rarely need to look at the popup
