When I was learning poker in the late 60s we frequently played with multiple wild cards, but I can't remember if we used Jokers in game play or not.
Common patterns were:
deuces wild
Aces, deuces and one-eyed jacks
"Kings and Little Ones" -- all Kings wild, plus the lowest ranked card in your hand.
Wild cards could not change suits, so you could not make a flush with a wild deuce of a different suit.
5-of a kind beat a royal flush.
Games were wild!
