Hi

This is my zoom diary where I want to put my thoughts and try and get better and rise the stakes playing zoom as I think I need to study it after being a recreational player for too long

Going to try and stick to posting a graph on here after every session and going through 5 hands that were hard

Just finished my first 500 hands at NL5

Doesn't look like I can post links to graphs yet

Gone through 5 hands to have a look at mistakes

Will leave it there for now as it is getting late

Good luck everyone

Hi MrZoom,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com! :welcome:

Post the link to the graph in plain text -- just leave off the https:// part.
people can copy it and paste it into their browsers.
If I see such a "link" I'll fix it. (within reason -- a couple a day is OK)

For a permanent solution sign up for one of our free money offers
That will get you bronze status, and you can then post all the links and pictures you want...

Best of luck on your journey...

Hi, thanks for the welcome Vorpal :f_thumbsup:

and thanks for the help with posting the graphs, think I might just end up paying for the silver status at some point soon, will probably stick to Pokerstars just for the software.

So this is how it has gone so far, downhill for the first week at 5NL and 2NL -

looks like I'm up about 8 buy-ins at 2NL and down about 9 buy-ins at 5NL

Have had a look at about 15 hands that I tagged as tricky to try and improve how I play them

Maybe running a little bad, it felt like I was a bit then stumbled across the stat that showed my sets had only won 8/15 hands at showdown which seems low but at least it isn't for much money

I will try and update this blog every Sunday evening - it seems a good time to do it, end of one week and start of the next

and not much else to say - will just play 2 and 5NL and hopefully have a winning week this week

Thanks Tomaloc- cool diary think your graphs were the first I'd seen of someone beating the ante zoom games so nice to know they are beatable and nice results :)

I didn't manage a winning week this week, at 2NL since the start of this blog I'm up about 15 buy-ins. Then erm,..... at 5NL I'm down 19 buy-ins and was up around 4 at the start so a 23 buy-in move in the wrong direction. Losing after over 100 hands of KK and QQ so some run bad I would hope and I have quite a lot of hands tagged to go through and hopefully start playing a bit better too. Something to bear in mind if i can go down -23 buy-ins playing for $5 is to be quite cautious with bankroll management - if I can start to beat the $5 games at some point, moving up with 50 buy-ins for a level then moving down if get to 50 buy-ins of the level below.

Here is the graph so far and the plan for this week again is to try and have a winning week at 2 and 5NL

Managed to win this week which was good, must have run pretty well as the EV line came up to the profit line, didn't notice running good as much as when I was running bad though, still down a couple of buy-ins in EV at 5NL after like 20000 hands but hopefully can correct that this week.

I've got 38 hands tagged to look through as well so need to remember to look through them and not be lazy. Signed up to this website as well for silver status mainly so I could post my graphs but think I might get access to some content/ videos so might as well make use of it.

Here's the graph of how it has gone so far and the plan for the week is to try and have another winning week at 2 and 5NL

Ah i see, thanks Vorpal, 6th time lucky ha

This week I just played 5NL and it didn't go well- down about 11 buy-ins now in total over 25000 hands which is pretty bad, tried a few different strategies to try and win and nothing seemed to work. Guess I just keep on trying to win until I start to win - can't be that hard at $5 stakes surely but seems it at the moment

5NL graph so far

Hopefully a better week this week

Hey no problem.
Except for a couple of large losses, the graph looks OK.
What matters somewhat is where those losses occurred -- preflop or at showdown, or chasing draws
Since you're using Pokertracker, why not run leakbuster to see what it says...

Also, in Pokertracker 4, you can right-click the graph and choose "save as" then save the graph to a folder on your computer.
I like to save as .png -- I tried all and I think that this gives the best results -- but it's up to you...
Once you've saved the image, just drag it into a post.

Hi

Looking at my biggest losing hands the losses seem to be occurring at showdown, guess this means I'm showing down weaker hands that I should be. I think leakbuster is also saying I'm too aggressive, playing too many hands, 3 betting too many hands and the aggression stats are showing as being too aggressive too. Thanks for pointing this out Vorpal, I just thought you have to be quite aggressive to win and in the couple of sessions that I played tighter they have gone better so hopefully I can start to correct things a bit.

A couple of other things I noticed when looking through PT4 after about 30000 hands now is that I'm losing (down 10 buy-ins, my biggest losing hand) with AK off suit which I think should probably be quite a profitable hand so will look into where I'm going wrong there, AQ off suit is also a big losing hand so hopefully they can be turned into profitable hands instead.

Ah thanks again for the tip makes it even easier :)

So this graph is how it has gone this week, down about $5 in EV

And this is how 5NL is going overall

Again the goal for this week is to try and start beating 5NL

Well being aggressive helps, but it is quite possible to be too aggressive.
If you put your non-showdown winnings on that graph it might show if you're too aggro.

okay thanks...... not sure what I can tell from it at the moment as it seems to be a bit all over the place, maybe you can tell if I am too aggro from it though. Guessing the last 3000 hands or so is how I want it with the blue line going up faster than the red line goes down.

Nothing about that graph indicates any real problems (at least as far as I can tell)

Have you run Leakbuster?

yeah I've run leaktracker on PT4, not sure if leakbuster is a different programme

This week has gone the same as the other weeks at 5NL

Here is how I'd done at 2NL, since starting this blog, plus 20 buy-ins, seemed fairly easy

Then 5NL, thought it would be the same kind of thing but a bit harder not a lot harder and playing bad, running bad.
