does one need to deposit to be successfully tracked?
I've played some games with what I got from them and I'm not getting any points. How can this be confirmed before depositing?

it does seem that a deposit is part of the process.
I've asked the other mods, however if you want to be absolutely certain, I suggest that you create a customer support ticket Follow the link then click the 
beside "Open a new ticket"
Give them all the details you can, such as your username, the date when you joined and so on.

It could take a few days for SPs to update. If they haven't shown up in a few days, then open a ticket with our customer support team and they will have a look for you.

Hey, thanks for the information. I have deposited about a week a week ago and got my account verified with personal documents. But still I'm getting no points, how often are those updated?

Because of how the reporting currently works with GGPoker, we dont receive the StrategyPoints data daily, but generally once every ~14 days.
On those days you will receive all StrategyPoints for this previous period. I just checked and you received your first StrategyPoints with GGPoker on the 23rd, so your account is linked and you will receive SP again soon once the next report comes in. (Of course assuming you played in the meanwhile 
)
