Pre-Flop: ($0.07) Hero is CO with 9♥ A♦
2 players fold, Hero raises to $0.15, BTN calls $0.15, 2 players fold

Flop: ($0.37) J♦ T♠ 7♣ (2 players)
Hero bets $0.18, BTN calls $0.18

Turn: ($0.73) A♠ (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.30, Hero calls $0.30

River: ($1.33) 2♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.45, Hero calls $0.45

How would you play this against unknown? Villain seems a bit fishy with his small stack but I have no further info on him.

Could be a mid stacker, but I would most likely Cbet turn again with top pair.
As played you get decent odds to call the river,

OTF you have an overcard and a gutshot.
OTT you don't just have top pair, you still have the gutshot, which gives you extra equity.

I think a bet OTT makes sense.
If you get called, since the river is a brick, you can be there too.
Like marcvz says, if you get shoved on, you can escape

Doesn't this Flop hit villian way more often then us? ... wouldn't check/call on Flop be viable? (turn c/c, river c/f)

NL5 and villain has 44bb. We can assume that's a fish.
No need to think about ranges here.
Top pair with a decent kicker is a value hand until you get reraised.
These players call you down with worse kickers, middle pairs etc.
