GGPoker vs Pokerstars

Hello,
ive been playing on GGPoker for some while now and i get the feeling that CG (Rush and Cash) have become tougher than those on Pokerstars.
While GGPoker was seen as one of the softer sites to play on, i do feel like this has changed over the last months. They have obv a good rakeback system in place now with flat rakeback for a year and the leaderboards will certainly bring a lot of grinders that just to be grinding the Partypoker promos before into the mix as well.

Whats your perception?
If you want to play fast fold, whats the best option right now?

Hi Nikb90,
It has been my opinion all along that GGPoker may have been softer then other sites once, but then all the sharks swooped down and there was (and probably still is) quite a feeding frenzy. So at the moment, GGPoker is more or less like all the rest.

If you say it is tougher, and you play fast-fold poker on both, I'll believe you.

Play your hands properly, and never assume that the other players are idiots until you know for sure.

All the best,
VS

Isn't the flat rakeback on GG still worked out along with your pvi rating ? So you might be getting 20% of your points earned on black fish but you might be earning points at far slower rates than other players. If that's the case your not actually getting 20% of your generated rake back. The pvi system just seems vary dubious to me i don't like it at all.Which is a bit of a shame as i really like the site GG poker id just much rather know what rakeback i'm getting in reality without all the smoke and mirrors of the pvi system.

This is pretty much everyone's complaint -- the lack of openness.

In fairness to GGPoker, PokerStars has a similarly obscure system.

I'm not up to date with stars system but as far as GG goes i agree the lack of openness from the site and the obscurity of the system is a huge issue for players. One other complaint i have though would be the system is designed to be obscure which is possibly the reason why they aren't forthcoming. It's doing what it's designed to do which is mislead players in to thinking they get better rakeback than they actually get.

PokerStars seems to be way more friendly towards regs. Ok, it may sound funny, because the rakeback is almost non-existent now. But I got the 40 % rakeback offered for third time. Pokerstars is also doing the best in order to found people who are either using RTA or colluding. I even know some people personally who got banned (and yeah, rightfully).

GGPoker? Well, I shipped a freeroll there and then decided to gamble a lil bit at omaha. Made a 350 USD roll from 0. Decided to cash out, because I read a lot of stories of players who got banned and their funds were confiscated (without investigation whatsoever). So I cashed out (or wanted to) and they cancelled it few days after. Because I didn't deposit any money on the site. Well, ok, I have not read their ToS. Maybe it really is a thing. But I was really tilted and I thought to myself - well, f@#k it, I am gonna gamble some more omaha and give the money away to players. So yeah, my roll is 0 at GGpoker now, but I am happy playing back at stars.

Maybe all I had to do was depositing minimum amount and cash out the whole roll. Who knows? Maybe next time, because I like the software, but I just dislike what I read about GGPoker at community forums.

On PokerStars you must withdraw using the same method you used for your last deposit.
If you want to change, you must withdraw using that method for a minimum amount (the amount of the deposits made using that method I believe).
After that minimum, you can change methods.

If you have never deposited, you will need to establish yourself first.
It isn't just standard, it is required by international agreements targeting money laundering

What do people think about new deposit restrictions on GG ? as it currently stands it would take a player 4 weeks to move a 25nl bankroll to the site which is obviously ridiculous. Limiting how much players can deposit within a week or month does nothing to prevent gamblers gambling. There are a multitude of sites online they can just spread there gambling across multiple sites. All this restriction does is hinder the average poker player who is for the most part responsible imo. What other countries have these restrictions ? i think Germany does are there any others ?

I see no restrictions.
I just went through the motions of depositing $US 2500 with no problem.
Mind you, I did not complete the transaction, but there was no indication of any limits.

I went into the limit settings of the app (available in the cashier) but nothing showed up there...

Poker sites are many things good bad and ugly but rigged card generators i highly doubt because the only people who care whether me or you win or lose is me and you the site get's it's cut regardless.

The complexity of the database required to rig hands against certain categories of players would be instantly obvious to any inspectors.

I didn't know this. So I guess the times when people start with freerolls, make roll with them and never look back, are gone, right?

Yeah, my bad. Sorry.

i do not know. but if so it has nothing to do with the deposit before withdrawing cos it was always like this. the main problem is that most freerolls are for a few bucks or so. 100$ freerolls are waste of time. back in the days one could play 10k, 5k freerolls every day without any requirements!

In those days, unscrupulous people would deposit, play a few hands and withdraw, making their money appear like it came from gambling, instead of whatever crime actually created the money.

So rules changed.
I don't know why it is necessary to withdraw to the same account from which you deposited, but I know that all the poker rooms that I have withdrawn from it has been this way.

It seems a simple matter to make a deposit in this case.

Cheers,
VS

so obvious. they want to be sure you own the account and not sending money to a "random" person. another reason if someone got into others poker account they cant withdraw to their own bank account. it is for our safety.
