Hi all,
Do you find these challenges worth the effort considering the most common reward is very poor?
I think the higher pool of players especially at NL10 Zoom when the challenges are on increase the likelihood of playing against poor/non-regulars and thus make it +EV decision to play irrespective of reward outcome.
Any thoughts?
PS My best reward ever in these was 5d, but the ZOOM sessions outcomes, particularly on weekends, are the biggest monetary reward by far
In general I ignore promos unless I already play the target game.
In that case the reward -- no matter how small -- becomes a bonus.
Otherwise -- and the Cardex is guilty of this -- you sometimes get into situation where you play badly to get a bonus.
eg: The cardex shows you need the K♠: next, and you're dealt K♠:2♣: in MP and UTG raises.
A clear fold -- but you might be tempted to go for the "up to $5000" reward.

I find myself doing that quite often in fact 
I find that the cards are almost always a couple aces, a couple kings, and another face card... all cards that likely fall within your most often played range anyways, so once I open the challenge, I forget about it until the end of my session and I've always unlocked it... My sessions are usually only 100-200 hands at a time.
Cardex is definitely less demanding than CardHunt which is more specific with suits and all.
I think this could be made more attractive too if the rare top prize was nerfed (it's so rare I doubt anyone ever wins it) and instead making the 50d a bit more reachable (say at 1% instead of the current 0.1%)

Yeah this makes the most sense. I let the card hunt get into my brain the first time it appeared and I lost couple of buy ins chasing it... Now I do the same as you, I activate it and play and if it happens to complete, that's a nice bonus, if not, I don't lose sleep..
Sounds like a decent strategy and it will attract a lot of action a promo like this.
I find that particularly on weekends there a lot of punts, possibly influenced by this
