PokerStars - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: $17.12
BTN: $13.85
SB: $10.00
Hero (BB): $10.66
UTG: $10.00
MP: $8.86

SB posts SB $0.05, Hero posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has A♦:A♥:

fold, fold, CO raises to $0.30, fold, fold, Hero raises to $1.10, CO calls $0.80 <<3Bet too small?

Flop: ($2.25, 2 players) Q♦:6♣:K♠:
Hero bets $1.12, CO calls $1.12 <<well at least there's no FD  but this solidly hits opponents range as well as mine

Turn: ($4.49, 2 players) T♠:
Hero bets $2.96, CO raises to $14.90 and is all-in, Hero ??? <<I think this might be too much "turning my hand into a bluff" but I thought I needed protection against a host of draws.

3bets ok 11bb you could make it 12bb or 4x but your fine with your sizing and turn is awkward oop im not honestly sure but i dont mind the bet.You can dicoount say KK but QQ is possible 66 definitely possible as well as AJ then its whether or not villain can have AK and some draws like AQ spades. You can probably get away with folding this one as villain just has so many KQ QTS QQ 66 KTs maybe TT if they float that vs 1/2p.But ye not 100% sure here and maybe check calling turn oop is better although if villain bets big vs a check on turn it also puts you in a pretty horrible spot.

Hi Vorpal,
Aby reads on Villain?

Pre I usually 3bet to 4x the initial bet when I am OOP, sometimes I add 1,2bb.

How about using higher sizing on the flop? You get more value from Kx hands.

Turn... Hmm.. this is a tricky card. Opens up a FD which anyway is very unlikely. It completes GS and most likely combos of 2pair.

Versus unknown Villain this is a fold to me.

Yeah, I think I would agree.

However, I did call, since I blocked the broadway draw somewhat, and I had some straight outs myself, and if the board paired I counterfeit some two pair hands.

The rest of the hand played out like so:
Turn: ($4.49, 2 players) T♠:
Hero bets $2.96, CO raises to $14.90 and is all-in, Hero calls $5.48 and is all-in

River: ($21.37, 2 players) 9♦:

Hero cashed out $16.53 for a fee of $0.17 <<Don't know if this is long-run +EV, but took the option here

Hero shows A♦:A♥: (One Pair, Aces)
(Pre 87%, Flop 80%, Turn 82%)
CO shows J♠:K♦: (Straight, King High)
(Pre 13%, Flop 20%, Turn 18%)
CO wins $20.41
Rake paid $0.96

In the infinite long run this is -EV, assuming that bad beats mean nothing to us like we were machines, not humans.
If bad beats could make us play worse etc, then it's a judgement call to use it or not IMO.

In this particular hand, I was playing to clear a bonus, and this way, I cut my losses, yet still get the same benefit from the hand, which was why I took the cashout.

If you are playing those limits only to clear bonus then I would cash-out whenever possible :)

Good point.
I was playing hold'em simply so I could get the volume in.
I can break even at this limit, but barely.

There isn't enough volume at "mixed games" if I need points in a hurry.
