Hi, its actually NL20 but the prefix doesn't have that, oh well. I haven't played cash in years, back in the day I raise this from the button all day. I'm sure what I should have done here. We were 5 handed, the SB is extremely passive, I mean he doesn't raise his nut hands and is always slow playing them, he does lead with top pair and weak kicker and he doesn't fold top pair as I stacked him a few hands earlier. I've also seen him not raise the nut straight on the river facing a small bet. I should have raised the turn allot more knowing he won't fold top pair. The CO plays his draws passive and I am not really worried about him unless the river completes the flush or the straight. On the river I am really only worried about A5 or AK. My bet may have come from me paying attention to something at another table because once I clicked I remember saying out loud you idiot!!! All comments and criticisms are welcome.

UTG: $19.80
CO: $17.85
Hero (BTN): $38.06
Villain SB: $19.10
BB: $15.97

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.90) Hero has 2♠:2♣:
UTG calls $0.20, CO calls $0.20, Hero BTN calls $0.20, Villain SB calls $0.10, BB checks

UTG checks, CO checks, Hero BTN checks, Villain SB checks, BB checks,
Flop: (Pot $1.00 5 players) A♥:5♣:K♦:

SB bets $0.20, BB folds, UTG folds, CO calls $0.20, Hero raises $0.80, Villain SB calls $0.60, CO calls $0.60
Turn: (Pot $3.40 2 players) 2♦:

River: (Pot $8.50 2 players) A♠:
Villain SB bets $1.70, CO folds, Hero BTN raise $3.40

Even without the additional info you have given, I would have raised bigger on the turn and the river. We need to try to stack the fish with our nut hand. Given that he doesn’t fold top pair and that his hand very much looks like Ax, you have missed on a ton of value by not taking his stack.

I totally agree about the turn, but OTR, we no longer have the nuts, so I'm in favour of the smaller raise -- or even just call.
The real problem with that though, is "What do you do if he shoves?"
You'll call of course, but hate it.

I think one of the main reasons its so butchered is because I was playing SNGs as well. Mixing the 2 formats doesn't work out and I went and mixed the formats again earlier and it shows in my play. But thanks for your reply.

Yes the turn raise is way to small. I was just thinking now that if I had raised the turn bigger maybe his river bet would have been bigger. But I don't know if I still raise the river then, maybe just call.
I'm not going to play SNGs while playing cash anymore. I will focus on one or the other. I'm still building my bankroll back up so I'm all over the place. I think I should do a blog.
