Hello,

Was I suppose to fold this or was it a correct call? I felt like the big stack could be doing this with a wide range to make me fold and I would have folded if the short-stack on the BB folded too. However, the BB called and here I am, thinking that I could actually have the best hand here, so I called.

Seems ok as ICM tax decrease heavily in these spots. It's not really good spot for SB to shove wide but even reasonable range can have some weaker hands. Some people can be very optimistic in bubble abuse plays though so reads are important.

This spot would be decent for open limp though. You don't mind team playing versus short stack and if someone raise its in general more likely that BB call when we have just limped. Plus in case SB shove and BB fold we have invested less.

Since I'm not a Sit&Go player I get puzzled by these spots.
I can see the logic in the limp, but when BB enters the pot, shouldn't we fold?

Yes, I know that making 1st is better than "just cashing", but just cashing is better than just busting.
Worst case here is BB surviving and we're out w/ nothing.
If BB triples up we have a 3-way tie for second, and it becomes a very interesting spot.

When BB gets in the pot our ICM tax decrease dramatically versus chip leader as chance of BB winning with weakest range in 3way pot is pretty low. Plus if chip leader is type to aggressively attack on bubble then our AT can be in decent shape.

I tried to do some example on HRC: http://hands.holdemresources.net/?id=vdfw2adz8ja0

So there is our open range of 8.3%, 88+ A9s+ ATo+, SB shoving 34.2%, 22+ Ax K2s+ K8o+ Q7s+ QTo+ J8s+ JTo T8s+ 98s, BB calling 13.0%, 33+ A9s+ AJo+ K9s+ KQo QTs+ JTs T9s (which might be way too tight). If BB call we call our whole open range and ATo shows +2.87% profit which is enormous. If BB fold we only call JJ+ and ATo would be -3.49% which is huge loss. So SB range stay same but ICM tax decrease tremondously and that makes enormous difference. This is spot where I would say most people underestimate how much ICM tax decrease (me included in many in game spots).

I think your mistake is to raise. You should shove with 7 big blinds. Even with the shortstack AT is enough strong to push.

I dont think here the big stack will re raise all in wide, that could be done from some regular but not in the 1,5$. I would say he has something like 77+ , AJ+
