Hi there

About me :

Im Tomas from Slovakia, so because of that - please forgive me my spelling errors, but I am not a native speaker. Im playing midstakes plo - 50bb - on apps.
I decided to open blog/ challange due to motivate myself to keep working on my game. Mentally i feel really well right now, but my results are far from expected. I am part of great staking company, which offers really good care, psychologists, coaching from better playes, solvers, etc. But sometimes i struggle to fully explore my resources, because it is better to watch hockey game ( Go leafs !) or chill out.
I will keep posting every Sunday with weekly results or more often if any questions ( do ot hesitate :) )

Game :

I've been playing for few years. Right now mostly plo400.

my resulsts from past 7 moths :

https://imgur.com/cjmG0Pz

luckily staking co provide me RB with avg rate of 40%

graph from plo 400 :

https://postimg.cc/9rLwXf0m

as u can see i experienced a small downswing out there. Probably my game was also not the best, but im here to change it !

-----------------------------
This month so fare :

Goal :

Double my long time winrate on plo400. Play comfortable on PLO600/1000. Keep working with solver at least few hours a week!
Improve mindset, to be fully mindfull. I have one hour session with sports psychologist a week, so right now i think, i am in 50% better than before mental coaching.
Improve my English, maybe some sessions with native, which helps me speak better:)

PS. I opened blog as well in other forum, but there are no comments, so maybe im posting boring things or forum, which used to big huge is now dead.

Good luck on the tables!

Hi karniak,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com EN community blogging section :welcome:
Best of luck!

Nice graph.

As well as weekly results, it is interesting to share hands -- hands that were puzzling, or hands where you were either very happy with how you played or where you think you might have made a mistake.

Sometimes when explaining your thought processes in a hand, you learn new things yourself.
And of course the rest of us learn too

All the best,
VS

So far, so bad::P.

running under ev still, but i have positive attitude, that it will change really soon.

funny hand - plo200 -300b
unknown fish. Have u ever considered calling there having in mind that it is 3b pot, and blocking some part of st8s with 5?

=================================

hand with agro fish. We do not block any of st8 cards, but how many of QJ, J8 etc he should have if we consider range, which is potting the flop?

Call or crying fold ? please share with me

Hello !

Month is finally over.

rakeback pro again...

im double sad, because Maple Leafs finished the season. I know that feeling, because they led 3-1 and at the very end lost 3-4. It is the same, when u start with 2k session profit and end up with 2k below 0 .

In June i will play smaller volume, due to Football European Champioship and Copa America. I like to bet a bit, so it is great chance to have fun.
But i will double my hours in solver then and try to finish some PLO videos i couldn't check before.

I will do small challange, because even if i will play less, i try to post at least one hand after each session. I hope that u will share with me your comments.

Have a good day/night! :)

Total shock. Under my rankings they were only the 5th best Canadian team behind Maple Leafs, Oilers, Jets and Flames. Wish I had bet on the Jets now. :why:

indeed, it is better to be in the black, than in the red:).

Fortunately i have good rb to wipe away the tears. But my goal is to incrase my winrate, not to basicaly be a rakeback pro.

yes, it was unexpected, and Michel Marner 0 points in playoffs....the same like last year. Pretty nice, when u consider his 11M$ yearly salary:D

Right now, when Montreal beat TML, i support them. They can be on fire after turning game from 3-1 Toronto's advantage.

Have a nice weekend!
Cheers!

Hello guys,

pretty decent start of the month.

Yesterday when i saw result of the session i made a joke, that im better on higher stakes. Of course small sample, but i checked several periods/graphs over last 3 years and it is really strange, but i have a little bit higher ev winrate on plo400/600 than 200.

For 3-4 years i have never played single session on plo200, so usually i add some tables, when not enough on plo400 are running.

Do you mix the stakes as well and experienced sth like that? I ve just figured out, that maybe i am focusing more on higher stakes and play B game below. I will need to talk about this on my weekly meeting with sport's psychologist.

Maybe i discredit smaller stakes and it could be a mental problem, which is better to solve as soon as possible. Please share with me if u encountered the same issue.

Rigth now, i can happy claim, that i overcome desire to play as long session as possible. I spend few hours with psychologist talking about that, using some techniques. So rigth now, i create a habit to play +/- 2hours sessions and i think it will pay off in the future.

Wish u a good weekend,
cheers!

Hello guys,

not a good volume, due to nice weather outside.
This month i work more with solvers. 2-3 hours a day, even, when i watch football or hockey. But try to slow down a little bit, and start hard grind from september.
Of course my target is still appr 80 hours a month right now.

Recently i ve worked with my psychologist abour mental issue,i mentioned in last comment. So we tried some excercises, to keep focusing the same on plo200 and plo400. Unfortunately plo600+ is not running at the moment. Sometimes one good table, but as u can see, ive played only 15 hands there, and table collapsed.

One think i would like to mention, that 16bb/100 rake is based on all games ive played. From 2 to 6 max, because I play a lot of 2,3,4 handed as well.

Euro started, with horrible accident with C.Eriksen. Big relief, that he is concious and stable conditions. MOnday is the most important game for me. Slovakia - Poland. My two home countries, so draw will be fair, but not decent result for both.

Wish u a good weekend,stay healthy
cheers!

Hello there,

have not played a bunch, because of euro. Really funny matches till today, my main favorite is going for that ( France).

this month so far :

more action still on plo200.Played only 40h, but the same amount of time i spended in solver. Decreasing number of tables is short term good decision, because i can focus more on my game and take notes for my opponents.

funny hand ;

unknown fish, but without fancy play noticed. Will u go for value shove or just call?

wish u a good week,

cheers!

In my eyes villain range is close to uncapped considering full house combos. Straight flushes should be unlikely for not betting flop or turn. But hands like TT, T9, K9 and KK are plausible though maybe TT and KK would bet some portion of time. So I doubt he is willing to bet-call flushes often enough for raise to make sense. We basically never bluff raise here imo as we still need to beat allin player. So reasonable player would probably fold 77 also.

Hello, I'm an ex PokerStrategy coach and I run the Staking Company Tomas mentioned, finally decided to take a peek into his new blog. I do believe that discussing hands can be +EV for everyone here ;) I hope Tomas will get back to his A Game soon, he used to have great results with us, now struggling a bit.

Onto the hand:

That's a clear call in my opinion. The board hits villains range heavily, he is uncapped, mainly because he is out of position. We should also note that the pot is protected (shortstack is all-in), which decreases chances for villain to bluff and for our hand to be a bluff as well (people tend to bluff less in protected pots). If we raise here, we are basicly value owning ourselves, because we force the villain to fold his worse hands and call with the better ones. The only hands we make him fold are the splitting 97 hands and sometimes 9T, I don't think he will ever fold 9K+. We should just call.

Hello mates, how its going?

played only 50h and almost 16k hands.
Strange thing again. Sample is to small to have conclusions, but stil have better winrate on plo400 than 200. Games a slightly better playerwise on plo200.
Still working with psychologist to have the same focus level on each stakes.

This month still my target is to cap 20k hands. Or sth like that.

I try to have smaller challenge here, to post one hand every each session. We will see how it works.

Euro 2021 is coming to over soon. France out, so team which i predicted to have at least second place. I have huge bet with friend that they will win championship. And my friend bet on Italy, and they are still in the game. Hopefully tomorrow they will go home after game against Portugal and i will save some money .

Please share your predictions, maybe it is time for England ? They have been waiting for that since 1966.

Stay safe and have a great week!
