So he looked like aggressive regular, but I had almost no hands on him. So on the river I thought, why not bet, cause I didn't put him on flushdraw, I thought this aggro looking player would bet the flushdraw on flop. When he jams the river after my big bet, I thought he might still be on something weaker than a flush. What do you think? Of course it is a bit awkward but he looked aggressive and I really thought he wouldn't check with a flushdraw on the flop or something... So basically I don't know how to play the river. Would you bet smaller? thanks

AdXd would make a lot of sense for villain line. He has showdown value to go for passive line. Flop itself is somewhat better for BB to have nut hands.

If we bet river it's mainly value from Ax or rare 6x. I would bet smaller like 10-15bb and fold to raise. When he raises river it's very flush heavy range and we don't block flush at all. We should have fair amount of flushes in our range anyway.

The turn sizing seems big as well. Only a diamond is a scare card for you on the river. I would bet on all streets around half pot. Than villain will call with a wider range I think.

Now villain is shoving on you on the river and a decent player will know you have at least a straight and that makes it tough to bluff against you. So that makes it easier to fold I think.

I like your sizing on flop and turn.

On the river you can bet 1/2 because even a straight could be scared of the flush.

Even if they´re agros they´re almost never bluffing in this spot because you can also have a lot of flushes here.

Agree with Ghaleon, this looks like a A♦:x combo from the way he played it.

PS.

I remember I played my biggest pot in NL 5 with a similar hand like this.

I had a set and the agro player raised me on the river after my 3/4 bet on the river.

And I had an easy laydown, but I leveled myself to make the call because he was an agro and he could be bluffing sometimes right?

He showed me the flush and I lost a $20 pot.
