Just out of curiosity, how long does it take for you to download and install the update?
I am having my windows in a VM in Linux and it is awfully slow (latest top speed was 6h), while other downloads are going quite normal. Also now I suddenly have an msvcp140.dll not found error issue once I want to start the software.
Checked for it and did all recommended steps, but still getting the error.
Also seen that this error can happen with skype. So I installed Skype for a test and no issue with this dll at all.
Just to test I started a download of Libreoffice, 1.500.000 b/sec vs 6000 - 10000 b/sec for the 888downloader

EDIT:
41% at about 2.5hrs

my update proceeded smoothly yesterday.
One idea might be to scrub it and re-install from scratch.

That dll is probably because you are missing some Visual C++ Redistributable.
Whenever I install Windows I use Driver Booster, get some key off of youtube to upgrade to PRO version and install every driver and every Gaming utility. Been using it for years, not a single problem yet. It installs those c++ packages so maybe it will solve your problems!

Did you manage to isolate your gaming video card in the VM (if you have one)? I was considering doing this myself but it seems like quite the hassle :f_biggrin:

Follow-up
I just received these instructions from 888 support regarding re-installation.
In my case, the problem is different, but this might help you

There are some goofy instructions in here such as:
:diamond:  Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed. Flash is no longer supported at all.
:diamond:  Empty Cache and cookies in the brower. I use 4 different browsers. All of them? Just the default?

Spoiler

I will provide you below the troubleshooting required for a complete reinstallation of our poker client, that should eliminate the issue which you are facing now.

If you wish to keep previously created player notes, please back-up a copy of the ‘Notes.xml’ file as follows:

note by VorpalF2F -- the path below will not work unless you replace the second "%username% with your 888 username. The first one should be your windows login name, but this will only work if your documents folder is in the default location. Mine isn't
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\888poker\%USERNAME%

Hint! You can copy and past the path to your windows explorer or search bar and press 'Enter'

In this folder you will find the 'UserSettings.xml' file.

Inside the UserSettings we have the below parameter:
<PlayerNotesSettings>
<NotesSyncPerformed>1</NotesSyncPerformed>
</PlayerNotesSettings>

If the parameter is '1', it means that the Sync was already performed. By SYNC, I mean, the automatic conversion of all player notes from 'Notes.XML' into 'QuickNotes.json', when you updated to the first poker client who used the .JSON file.

If you changed the parameter 'NotesSyncPerformed' from 'UserSettings.xml' to '0', the first time when the poker client opens and you logged in, the conversion will be performed of all the notes from 'Notes.XML' into 'QuickNotes.json'.

In an effort to have the issue resolved, I will list below, the troubleshooting that is designed to guide you through a complete uninstall of our poker client, followed by a new re-installation:

1. Go to start and type regedit and open the regedit.exe app
2. Go to the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> pacificpoker -> poker -> INIT folder
3. Inside INIT folder there are 3 registry: ENABLE_QUICK_RING_TABLE , ENABLE_QUICK_TOUR_TABLE and ENABLE_QUICK_HISTORY_TABLE. Open each one of them by double click and change the value data from 1 to 0.

After you have done this, please reinstall the poker client directly from the website https://www.888poker.com/download-poker/ .

Additionally, I would recommend that you try and follow the below instructions one by one and check if they work.

(1) - Check the firewall to make sure it is not blocking any part of the software. You will need to open access to these ports ... 701, 4095, 4096, 7100, 7200, 7500, 8500 and 8520.
(2) - Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed.
(3) - Make sure you have has the latest version of Java installed.
(4) - Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed.
(5) - Please add https://www.safe-cashier.com and www.888.com to your trusted websites list.
(6) - Please empty your Cache and Cookies in your browser. Here is how this can be done https://888-external-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12052 .

Cool, thanks a lot. Will try that. Didn't isolate the video card. I only used and installed the VM so far for poker.
At least with the fiddling around I got my VM faster, no more laggy issues. Seems with the update on Mint 20 it gave me a better graphics option.
Also installed another network card driver. It has been found but not connecting as it appears. However it seems it is only the issue to download with 888, speedtests show my full 20M speed I get from the provider.

Yes, the one with Flash is quite funny, having an updated Win10 makes it probably impossible to have Flash installed. I read you either should go back to an older backup point and avoid updating the fall update, which has eradicated Flash for good, or you have an older Windows version.
So for the moment I see what happens. I am not so keen on using too much of my valuable time with Poker. The remains I have, $25, I will see how far I get with them in my phone.
Pros: I seem to be more concentrated playing there.
Cons: Display is a bit small.

As I said, finally I got my VM running smooth now and also got it back to a decent full screen (as I had it before with other VMs but could never make it up how I did it, until I understand the GuestAdditions.iso again).
Just need to find a reason to use it as I installed only for poker reasons a year ago. Well I want to see if I can get at least the 2nd Ethernet running as a paravirtual network. Followed the instructions and got the Red Hat drivers installed, it is found and shows no error but is not connecting.

I have windows 10 -- no flash (I checked)
Since yesterday I re-installed 888 3 times.
Once at the suggestion of support.
Once in response to an email that said they had a glitch, and a third time this morning when I opened the client.

Whatever the problem was with the folded cards, it has been fixed.
I have a script that automatically positions poker tables. That script makes use of the window class of a poker table.
After the first update, the script failed -- the window class had become Qt5151QWindowOwnDCIcon
Previously it was Qt5QWindowOwnDC
After the update this morning, it is once again Qt5QWindowOwnDC

Both of those window classes are used by other poker sites for the table and lobby windows, so I wasn't surprised.

In all cases the downloads went quickly and smoothly.

I might have a try this weekend.
Seen that I could also play in the browser. Didn't think about this because it was not working in the browser under Linux. But both browser and mobile don't give you the hand history or let you at least watch your history online.
Maybe the NAT gives problems with the download. Other downloads go in a breeze.

Unbelievable, it finally worked out. Another 5hr download, stuck for a while at 99% when installing and now I am in the software again.
Thanks for all the help and hints. See you on the tables. :f_biggrin:

Just to add what I did different now:
I installed CCleaner and cleaned the system also the registry, had already tried to remove everything concerning Poker manually from the registry.

Also the first time for me to see the whole screen of the software. Before with the wrong graphic drivers the popup of the free spin would kind of fill my screen. =) .
