QJs, interesting hand

X-c flop and as played x-c turn. Tough to get much action from worse by betting. If flop went checked I would bet turn and some rivers for value even unimproved.

Thank you for the quick reply! That makes alot of sense, I think my though process in the hand was that villains fold to c- bets frequently and I wouldnt mind a fold, I was thinking maybe we can get a call from some weaker PP’s but TT probrably doesnt limp I guess.

On the other hand I was also thinking gto and this flop should be better for our range , but then again gto would bet polarized with best made hands and draws and we hold a marginal made so this was a mistake both ways . My thoughts confuse me mid hand because I am trying to exploit but also think about gto school of thought at the same time for some reason, either way I believe you nailed it this hand seems like a pure check.

Some of these players were extremely loose, if we think they will call pre with a wife range can we ever bet for value with this hand on the flop? Or is it generally safer to play as a check from OOP do you think?

check the flop you want to pot control a bit with a hand that has showdown value and you can get 1 maybe 2 streets of value later in the hand.Hands you would want to barrel are pure value hands and then some hands that don't have showdown value but benefit from fold equity and have good raw equity.So something like 9h8h for example might make a good cbet and barrel but second pair has to much showdown value to turn in to a bluff and this flop and turn line isn't really for value as not much worse calls flop and turn bets.

GTO is good baseline strategy against regulars until you realize leaks of your opponents. In this hand you are against limper - thats never good player so I would just throw all GTO considerations into bin. You should ask yourself not "How I should play my range on this flop?" but "How can I make most money with my exact hand?". Its not that this guy will ever punish your mistakes.

I think you have usually 2 streets value with this hand. Question is if you should bet flop - in most cases not, as board is relatively dry and static - you dont need much protection and your hand is not good for 3 steets anyway. You also give him opportunity to bluff or hit pair with his 98s to call you down.

I don't think a limp pre-flop on the SB would be bad ether. Especially out of position you don't want to play a big pot and QJs has decent playabillity.
