How to play the nuts on the River

Probably we want to raise pot in preflop in Hilo also?

In first hand we could play flop or turn perhaps more aggro or is lack of low hand issue? As hi hand it's very potential and villain small turn bet looks pretty weak.

Second hand I would open pot pre, cbet 1.5-2bb, bet turn for half pot and as played raise bigger on river. If villain is ready to call minraise I doubt his call frequency drops that much versus bigger size either. When he pots river it's sign he has hand that he likes which on this board is likely nut flush or better.

Definitely true if drawing to the nuts in both pots.
If you have a strong hi-hand you often end up with half the pot and losing to rake.
Better to see what develops.

On this site, folding isn't in their nature.
On PokerStars you can get folds by open-raising pot quite often.

The part that gets me about these two hands in particular is what to do on the river -- however we got there.
I try to base my play on what I know of the players, but often you don't have enough info.

First hand I would raise smaller for value on the river like 2,5x and 2nd hand you could stack villain off. Villian has only 17,8bb more behind.

When you have just the high nuts, I would prefer potting rivers if low is possible. You want to create FE against any non-nut low that would split the pot.
When low is not possible, you want to milk as much as you can, and potting just screams "I have the nuts". I am not sure how much river potting is done in hilo with blocker bluffs, but at 5cent stakes I would assume it's not a valid strategy.

And before you play any split pot cash games, definitely check the rake rules for splitted pots. If full rake is taken, it's a trap!

The rake comes out of the pot before the split, so if you get half, you pay half the rake.
If it is different on some sites, I haven't seen it yet.

There are sites where split pots have reduced rake. The rake is actually paid at the end of the hand, although it is collected from the pot during the hand.

But small stakes hilo with full rake on splitted pots is a rake trap. Have you every checked how much in bb/100 you are paying?
