Now What?

I'm playing some FR NL 25 as a side game while playing a NL 2-7 Lowball tournament.

Only 20 hands on opponent -- 68/23 with a 7 post-draw Aggression factor

PokerStars - $0.25 NL - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP: 62.64 BB
CO: 56.16 BB
BTN: 95.6 BB
SB: 103.52 BB
BB: 147.24 BB
UTG: 181.28 BB
Hero (UTG+1): 103.08 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A♦:8♦:

fold, Hero raises to 2.2 BB, fold, CO calls 2.2 BB, fold, SB calls 1.8 BB, fold

Flop: (7.6 BB, 3 players) 6♣:K♣:8♠:
SB checks, Hero bets 2.52 BB, CO calls 2.52 BB, fold

Turn: (12.64 BB, 2 players) 4♠:
Hero checks, CO checks

River: (12.64 BB, 2 players) 6♦:
Hero bets 8.32 BB, CO raises to 16.64 BB, << I don't think it makes sense to fold this --

tough spot. I might prefer a check on the river, if we bet now idk if we are ahead of 50% of the range that calls, but if we check and face a reasonably sized bet I would think we would have the equity to call because there are 2 broken FD's and hands like T9 missed.

On river I would bet smaller because he can still have a lot of middle pockets beating us. Smaller sizing is also better to induce bluffs so you can bet/call with smile on your face. When you bet big all player profiles are less likely to use raise as bluff so we have tough spot when he raises anyway. I would probably end up calling due to odds, but I'm not super thrilled about this.

Multi way the Cbet with middle pair is close. It's tough to get much value except against a flush draw and I don't think a better hand will fold.

River a half pot bet is big enough, but after the min raise it's tough to fold, but there aren't any value hands you beat here.

Cheers,

I judged CO to be rather weak due to the small stack, and apparent aggressiveness

Here's how it finished...
CO shows 9♥:T♣: (One Pair, Sixes)
(Pre 41%, Flop 41%, Turn 23%)
Hero shows A♦:8♦: (Two Pair, Eights and Sixes)
(Pre 59%, Flop 59%, Turn 77%)
Hero wins 43.84 BB
Rake paid 2.08 BB
