I'm never folding to these, but I don't really want to go broke with this hand either.
How does one handle these things in general?

Villains line is really weird with min betting flop and call your raise and min bets again on the turn.

Read less I would consider to raise the turn again to like 10bb. Maybe villain could over play top pair like now. If you call like now I would consider to raise the river on a blank river.

The problem is that if opponent has a weak ace, there are 2 cards that give him two pair.
If he has a stronger A, I'm way behind.
If he has any 8 at all it is worse.

I'm trying to overcome my tendency to be over-aggressive so looking for more blue-line wins

I think opponent had the same idea I did -- he has top pair with a weak kicker and just wants to get to showdown.
