I think my river play is sub optimum and i dont get enough bets out of the river. Did i play this one right? I thought there is a good chance that he is calling me with a 7 or 8 maybe even a flush draw, but the call after my turn raise maybe discounts the flush. So the 7 on the river made me scared. Then again would a guy bet his set there or would he check raise it?

Ok first of all, call river is not a big mistake here, but i think you can get more value out of the hand when you raise here.

Think about raise/fold to 3bet. It is somehow tricky but there is the flush draw on the board and the board is paired so i don't think he will 3bet you here with A8 but he will often enough still call a raise with that hand.

A lot of players will donkbet the river here with A8/K8 just because they are afraid that you check behind the river.
