CO is 27/17, 53 hands

BB is 19/12/af:0.8/3B:0, 44 hands

I 4bet pre rather large due to 200BBESS, maybe I went too big but seeing the tight passive player on BB, I thought that he might give action.

PokerStars - $0.50 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 101.88 BB
SB: 145.1 BB
BB: 238.34 BB
UTG: 100 BB
Hero (MP): 207.04 BB
CO: 100 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♦ A♠

fold, Hero raises to 2 BB, CO raises to 6.5 BB, fold, fold, BB calls 5.5 BB, Hero raises to 47.5 BB, fold, BB calls 41 BB

Flop: (102 BB, 2 players) A♣ 2♦ 8♠
BB checks, Hero bets 10 BB, BB calls 10 BB

Turn: (122 BB, 2 players) 2♣
BB checks, Hero bets 20 BB, BB calls 20 BB

River: (162 BB, 2 players) Q♠
BB checks, Hero bets ?? BB

It's difficult to get value when we block his value range.

How much do we wanna bet here on river?

I can't use my solver for this hand because it's deep.

Wow, that 4bet sizing. Solver would never approve both your super large sizing and his call with 46% required equity preflop so I dont think it makes sense to study this spot with solver.
Due to fact that he found call pre I think its safe to assume he is nit-fish so I would focus on getting whole stack in middle. I think you could increase a bit sizing on flop and turn. On river I just shove and pray that he hits QQ/AQ or he is a bit curious with AJ/AK.

If you have reads the BB is passive and you using a big 4bet sizing I would Cbet flop at least 1/3 pot with the intention to shove the turn. As played the river is a easy shove with around 130bb behind.

I don't know what the solver would say in this scenario because I only have the starter kit which doesn't compute for deep stack sizes, but I assume larger sizing is recommended for deeper stack sizes so if the 4bet is 25BB at 100BBESS then it must be at least 35BB vs two players. So it's not such a huge stretch to increase the sizing to 47.5BB vs a tight passive calling station at 200BBESS. I meant to do 40BB but I changed my mind at last second and dialed it up too high, there is not enough time to ponder preflop at PS because then you end up folding unintentionally.

It seems very natural to shove river just because the pot is 162BB and you only have 129.54BB left. However, his range is very much likely exactly the KK, so I had to think about this later but I think it might be like 40% shove, 60% various VB sizes, and the correct bet size is probably 30BB. But the shove is not wrong, he snap folded on river.

Speaking of passive tight calling station. The best line, I believe is to 4bet/shove preflop, because he will tank but he will call, it seems inelastic to me.

Edit: added information.

So what you do with 3bet? Someone opens for 3bb, you are IP and 3bet to 15 cause you are 200bb deep? I never saw in any coaching videos or from competent regular 40bb 4bet in spot like this as standard. Its nice exploit against people who has no clue against odds, but its also making decision for your opponents easier.

What would you call to your sizing? Setmine with TT or speculation call with A5s and fold flop? Opponents would struggle to make profitable call with non-premium hands even if you make it 28 or 30bb. Its not that you go all in on every flop and after every line so implied odds are not that superb.

You are not going to play like this against TAG because that would be idiotic. But against recreational players, fish, and donkeys, you can do anything you wanna do to exploit them. Often times, exploitative strategies are not GTO.

an 8x 4Bet is overkill — you're obv never folding to a shove.
If solver would never do this, then this is perhaps a spot to deviate into exploitable mode.

You can get called by worse, true, but there are a ton of flops you hate.

"A bit bigger" would be 4Betting to 5 or 6 times the last bet, then call the shove.
