Hello everyone!

My name is Krzysztof (Christopher/Chris), I am 26 years old, and I go under the nickname of Valaquaz. I have been a long time user of Pokerstartegy (since 2016) but never really posted anything until today (do not be too harsh on me, please). I have been playing poker since 2016, mostly MTTs, as a hobby from time to time. Since last WCOOP I put more and more effort into actually studying and developing my game and grinded more which resulted in few decent scores. Most of them were in mixed games, which I am a huge fan of.
I have always admired these bankroll challenges posted here, never really managed to do one my own, but now I came up with a different idea for a challenge: World Champion of online poker challenge!

Why?
WCOOP events are special for me. The prestige, the competition, the bigger than normal prize pools, and the vast range of mixed games tournaments make me really love this series. I would like to prove to myself that I can grind hard, be resilient and persisient in reaching my poker goals.

What is this challenge?
I plan to grind all of the WCOOP low buyin events and some medium ones with the following goals:
-win at least 1 WCOOP title
-get the top 5 of the WCOOP Low Leader Board
-make a profit (I know poker players should not be results-oriented especially when the sample size is so low, but still)
Just to add here, I have already won 1 WCOOP title and I came 37th on the SCOOP leader board this year despite missing a few days and not making any FTs.

This blog will be used as my diary, I will try to post a summary of each day, my thoughts, and maybe even some hands to share with you guys (NLH? PLO? Other variants?). I would love to get feedback from you here, before the series start. What do you think about it? What would you like to see? How should I shape it? Are you interested in following my road to a world champion?
Please let me know below and GL to all other WCOOP grinders! :)

Hey Valaquaz, I'll be following!

Wish you luck to fullfill your goals. I'll be playing also, so hope to see you at least on FT's! :)

Day 1 – 4.09 – Sunday Grind

Had really high hopes as the session started really nicely, built a few nice stacks but then everything went to shit.
In the 22$ Warmup PKO freezeout I misplayed a hand. I hero called the river overbet while knowing people almost never bluff a spot like that. I keep asking myself why do I still do that?

In other tournaments I could not do much, didnt get anything going in two bullets in the PLO, and ended up losing a KKxx ds to naked AQJx rainbow. Same story in the 11$ 6max where I lost a flip right after the late raged closed.

The 5,5$ Kickoff is a different story, I built a massive stack top40, I was cruising and playing really well, then I played a following hand:
Preflop: CO (I noticed a crazy plays from him before) opens 2,2x
Villain in the small blind 3bets to 7,5x with AKo, CO calls
Flop: Q82r, SB bets ¼ pot, CO calls,
Turn: K, SB bets 45% pot, CO jams on SB and SB calls
River: 9, SB shows AK and loses to 99 from CO.
It was a top3 stack pot when 300 players left.

The Sunday Million looked like a day saver, had a really nice stack, around 45bb, 500 to the money and then lost 2 pots. AJ<JT for 40bb pot, allin pre, and then my QQ ran into AA for the last 25bb.
What a day…

I am sorry to say that, but unfortunately, I have to cancel my WCOOP challenge, because of personal reasons. I am still going to play few events, however I am not able to grind the whole series.

Thank you all for your support and good luck at the tables!
