Hey everyone! My name is Alex, i've been playing poker since 2008, never as a pro, however i've been earning a bit in 2010s. Played a lot at FullTilt years ago, then moved to PS, playing mostly FR NL2-5. I've also tried playing SpinnGo with Spinlegends in 2016, but at that moment i didn't really had time for poker, so i left.
Right now i moved to a different country with my family and am working from home, so i have a lot of time to learn and play and decided to try and climb the limits. I am watching VODs, reading forums, also playing a bit (w/o stats trackers just to understand common strategies without stats).
I am also starting to evaluate the hands i played, so i've made this blog just to write about the hands i played and discuss them here, cause i really hve some troubles making strategies)

Thanks all for reading and good luck!)

So, i started playing at the 1st of November at NL5-NL10, and right now i have +80$ in my stack. Trying to play 2-3 tables, not more, playing tight, according to the preflop chart.
Here is the first hand I'd like to discuss.

FR, NL10 (idk why it was converted to nl2 format, however it doesnt matter).
UTG: $2.63 (132 bb)
MP+1: $2.12 (106 bb)
MP+2 (Hero): 2.5 (150 bb)
CO: $3.64 (182 bb)
BU: $1.69 (85 bb)
SB: $1.69 (85 bb)
BB: $1 (50 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is MP+2 with T♥ T♣
UTG raises to $0.06, mp+1 folds, hero calls $0.06, 3 players fold, BB calls $0.06

Flop: ($0.19) Th2s5c. BB checks, UTG+1 bets $0.09, hero calls, BB folds.

Turn: ($0.37) Qc. UTG+1 bets $0.18, hero raises to $0.54, UTG+1 calls.

River: ($1.45) 8c. UTG+1 Checks, hero checks.

So, what were my thoughts here.
I had no stats or notes on this players, start of the session. Calling pf with TT vs UTG for set or low boards. I 3b vs utg with JJ+, AKs. So i get my set vs 2 players, face a 1/2 cbet from utg and decide to call. As the player is unknown i suppose he will OR from utg about 5%, i.e.: 77+, AQs+, AKo and cbet 100% to this structure.
Turn comes a Q, which helps almost every hand he has. As i suppose a player will not cbet low part of his range on turn, he barrells with JJ+, AQ, AK, maybe AcJc. So i stand like 89 to 11 against his range. And here i decided to raise x 3, cause his range is pretty strong and i am not sure he can fold turn. However, when i started thinking about this hand afterwards, i see a weakness in my play here, because i literally have no bluffs possible: i can't have flushdraws (prbly only AcJc), maybe some AQs which i called flop for backdoors and that's it. So now i am doubting about the best lane here: should i raise every AJs-AQs on that board turn? Should i just call turn and bet river? the more i think, the more i see a call turn - bet river lane, then 3 betting turn. Am i wrong?
On the river here i obviously made a mistake: should've bet about 1/2 pot for value.

Thanks for your attention!

Hey everyone!
So, first of all, i have great news - i finally found some hookah tobacco shop, which deliver to the place i am now living. As a matter of fact - that was a big problem, cause i took my shisha with me, but forgot my hose and coals. I am not addicted to smoking, but when you come to a new place - you really need something that will be kind of routine, just to get used to the new place. So yesterday i finally smoke first time in two weeks (back at my place i used to smoke with my wife sometimes up to 3-4 shishas a day).
Moreover then that, i've got a pretty decent session last night, where i got pocket AA, KK, QQ, JJ, a couple of sets, etc - and all of that only after an ~hour playing. Twas fun even though i've lost JJ<AKo on 345 flop, i've also got AA>KK and KK>88 and 66>AA on a 6K2 flop.
I've also watched VODs, the most interesting was of MartaiMrko, with his tips about overbetting turn and river in capped spots. Done it yesterday once or twice - and it went well! I've always had troubles with the red line, so i hope this will improve it a bit.

Also, i have two hands to discuss.

CO (198 bb). Hero SB (230 bb), BB 30 bb.
CO or 2,33 bb, hero calls 44, bb calls.
Flop: 4d Qc 7s, hero checks, bb checks, CO checks.
Turn (6,62bb): 2c. Hero bets 3,5bb; bb folds, CO raises to 10bb, hero calls.
River (25,52bb): 8c. hero bets 12,76bb, CO raises to 51 bb, hero calls.

So i call PF for set mining, 44 is the low part of my 3bet vs CO from SB range, but due to the stack amount i decided to call. I've been playing with that op for a while, he is reg, a bit ABC i would say.
I get my set on a Qhigh board vs 2 players, i suppose a layer should cbet almost everything here, but he checks behind. So to this point he can't rly have any strong hands, cause i haven't seen him slowplay any hands, moreover - he can't check any over cards here or Ax, so i can give him low pairs, maybe some A4, and some natural trash prbly, idk, K2o? However he doesn't open that much hands to have K2 here, i would say he has smth like 22+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, ATo+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo, with some K9-K8s, maybe A7+, that's all. As i can't call him megatight player i suppose he has to cbet about 80-90% of hands here, what leaves us with 25-50 hands left for check. If he checks 22, 33, 55 and 66, that gives hime 24 hands, maybe he can also find some T9 for check in this spot. However, if he checks his lowest equity hands, he might as well check at least QQ and 77 here, but according to notes, he does not slowplay.
So river gets us a 2 with a fd, i bet and the opponent 3bets with a pot size bet. At this point i first thought about a set he might've got on flop, or fd. However, i can't find enough fds in this lane, and i was also not sure he can check flop with all his 77 and QQ, but he will with all 22. He obviously won't fold any of his cards, and against that range i stand bad, cause i loose to 3 hands of QQ, 3 hands of 77, and win against 3 hands of 22. Thats 35 to 65 in equity, and i have to call 6,5/20,12 what leaves me 0,32%. However, as i've said, he just wont check all of his sets on flop, so i prbly have more equity.
River completes flush, but that is really unrelevant to this case. He 3bets again, now i have to call 37,24 to a 89.28 pot, what gives me 30% of equity needed. Obviuos call, even if he checks all sets flop.

And now the question, do i overthink here? Is it just an obvious shove on turn? Would a NL5-NL10-NL25 reg ever have bluffs in that lane? I suppose that not, but any opinions?

And the next hand was played almost in the next spot.
Hero CO (167 bb), btn (350 bb), sb (93 bb), bb (100bb).

Hero is Qc7c raises to 3bb, btn calls, sb calls, bb folds,
Flop (9,45 bb): Qd 7d 3d, sb bets 7,09 bb, hero calls, btn folds.
Turn (22,85 bb): 6h. sb bets 11.42 bb, hero calls.
River (44,44 bb): Jh, Sb checks, hero checks.

So here i was playing against a bit loose sb player, who was calling widely from blinds and has done some bluffs, but nothing "too much".
I open with Q7s form CO, which is actually a mistake, cause I have Q8s+ in my range from CO, however, we had only 4 players left at the table.
Get 2 calls, and flop 2 top pairs on a flush board.
First, i evaluate SB range. That player wasn't playing very aggresive preflop, so i believe, he will call with smth like that: 99-22,AJs-A2s,K2s+,Q3s+,J6s+,T6s+,96s+,85s+,75s+,64s+,53s+,AJo-A2o,K7o+,Q7o+,J7o+,T7o+,97o+,87o
He donks 77% of pot, and to this point, i think, he would play so vs 2 players OOP only with strong draws and sets. He tends to bluff, but as i said, he hasn't shown smth ridiculous during the session, so i do not expect to see random stuff with no equity. I also don't think he will bet so big with flopped flush, players don't do this in such limits. So i expect his range to be: 77, 33, KQ, Q7, Kc7+, Ac2-AcJ. Against this range i stand as 59/41.

Now, why did i check? I think, that it's a mistake, i mean, he still has a lot of equity in his hand, and a lot of good cards, such as K, clubs, aces, but he rarely will have a hand, which beats me on flop. I should prbly bet here with at least 2,7-3 size, to get my equity. Call obviously puts me in a bad position, if he hits a club and bets - i will have to fold almost every time, so he can just exploit me in the future.
On turn, after he bets 1/2 pot - it's even a more obvious 3bet, cause he can never have a hand better then mine in here and might, actually, fold some 33 sets to my shove, or, what is more possible, call with hands like Ac6, Ac7 (or even more Ac, it's NL10).
Checking river was a mistake again, i was thinking about his flush still, idk why.

In conclusion: i have a problem with "robotic" plays, when i just hit the buttons without giving it a good thought. Will try to fix it somehow.
Gl to everyone and feel free to comment)

Plans for December: >30k hands, and work on my river lanes, cause i fill pretty weak sometimes, understanding, that idk, should i barell with my hands, should i call or fold...
also i am trying to find some GTO tools for free, but the only i have is SimplePoker and it doesn't have to much for free. Can anyone recommend smth?

22K hands!
Wow — I admire your dedication!

As far as GTO tools go, I know of nothing.

I would really love to see some GTO Omaha Hi/Lo ranges, but the game isn't popular enough

i always thought its needed to play 50k+ for proper distance, or the times changed?)

and how do people usually build their ranges w/o GTO tools? never understood that(

cause i took my shisha with me, but forgot my hose and coals

I carried my friends one by the "neck" one night when we decided to smoke, the bottom fell off and smashed all over the floor  we didn't smoke that night.

hookah tobacco shop

We are lucky every shop carries tobacco; it's been years since I smoked this.

So, this month was a bit difficult: I am still looking for an apartment to live in and also had a lot of work to do. However i managed to play 28 700 hands (plus some in Zoom, but i dont count that), with a result of - 600 bb, i.e aprox. -0,23bb/100.
I had 2 very bad days that affected my game, mostly loosing to one particular player. Also had a couple of very awful badbeats where i got lost vs 5% or less (like full house vs 4 of a kind and nuts flush vs straight flush). Hope i won't see those in January.
I am working on my bluff/equity lanes, cause i fell that i do not have enough bets with my top bluff hands and that is my weak spot.
Also thinking about hiring a coach, but i suppose that would be nice if i could climb this limit and work with coach on the next one.
Also still have a lot of work to do with GTO, however i believe i've improved my preflop ranges (compared to previous month), so in total i believe this moth went well in terms of studying. Hope, next month will also improve my results =)
GL everyone and have a nice year for you all!

Hey everyone, haven't posted in a while.
Had a rough couple of months making my new apartment liveable. By now already adjusted to new country, preparing to buy a car here, which will hopefully help to fix existing travel problems (i live in a city on a mountain, so its quite difficult to go shopping, cause i live at the top, and all the good shops are on the bottom :f_cry:)

However i did quite a bit on improving my play: i started working with a coach, and that literally boosted my game as hell. Right now those are my stats for NL10:

The main improvement was actually quite simple: stop playing vs regs and start playing more vs recreational players. Very obvious, but still...)

I also moved recently to NL25 mixing it with NL10, so right now i have 32bb/100 after 1500 hands, hope will continue as good as it goes.

Best luck to everyone!)

Any tips on that? How do you select the softer tables?

No tips actually, just watch the table. If you don't see enough fish or the fish is not big enough - just leave the table. no need to play 6max vs 5 regs.
and also - if there are regs at the table - just don't play to many hands vs them. they are not your main profit.
