No pre-existing history with opponent. I'm on the button holding A4 of clubs. Preflop I bet, opponent 3-bets and I call. Flopped A4 two pair but with 2 spades on the board. 3 bet the flop (c. pot sized raise) and opponent called. Turn comes 8H and opponent checks, I feel like I have a decent read that he is on an AceX of spades and shove. He calls and gets the spade on the river. He was playing AJs
Most of me feels ok with the hand - I got everything in the middle as a 60/40 favourite. But what I'm pondering on is the big 3-bet on the flop. That meant that my shove on the turn was only a c 70% pot sized bet. A smaller 3 bet on the flop would have given me a bit more scope to put a stronger bet in on the turn (and I guess would also have left me losing less money if the turn came a spade).
Does that have any validity or am I overthinking because I lost the hand? Obviously if I misplayed it completely please do tell!!!
