interesting pot, done into on turn when I hit trips, then a river overbet.

dont know much about villain, 218 hands 31/19/8/17 fold to 3 bet, done turn 2/9 bet river 61% 11/18.

pre and flop standard.

turn is weird, when I get lead into in kinda smells like either a Full house or a draw to the flush. This I think is the decision time in hand, I was torn between, calling which I did or raising which I didn't. I didn't raise turn done bet, as I though to myself this felt kinda like a block bet to see if villain hit a back door flush, I called as I wanted to keep all his bluffs in (2 hearts). It is possible for villain to have a boat with a set of 7's or 9's being passive he probably isn't 3 betting pre.

Then the river get super weird, he lead donks overbet. now for this he is 2/3, this is were I now start to worry more about the full house, maybe A7,A9,- then the flush draw completes. I am super out of sorts and really didn't have a clue, iso I made the big lay down.

most of the time when I see lines that I dont see use very often, I lean on the side of caution, as you can see.

What is everyones thought on line?
do I raise turn?
do I call river?

I prefer a raise on the turn myself. V could be donking a weaker A, as its getting really drawy now, str8 and now flush possibilities. Also, might be a bluff, with a hand like 97 and is now counterfeit on the turn.
River some of Vs bluffs get there, Qh9h, Jh9h, 8hTh, 8h6h, I wish you called so i can see what he had :roto2:

I would play it the same. As played, the river is close. 86s/something like 9h8h. It's hard to fold trip best kicker because we beat slow played AQ/AJ.

I am gonna raise OTT most of the time. This type of donks are usually block bets. Indication of weakness so i go for value. As played i am calling OTR

Not sure what stakes you are playing at napoleon, but as recs play higher steaks, mmmmmmmm steaks!! stakes they play more ABC, bet when they have a made and not when they dont, not many us an overbet size on any street. The donk to overbet is what makes me think he completes a pretty big hand.
what can he continue on flop with, Ax 97s 97 unsuited maybe KQh but probably a 3bet. Turn what can he lead with Ax again- A7-A9- 2 hearts 97h, ---Aj-Aq maybe with the draw now on board. River what the hoot is he over betting, On a backdoor Flush, AQ maybe, A9,A7,A5, set 9's, set 7's. I pretty sure solver it is a call, but someone who is so unbalanced. As i said weird hand.

I agree with OOT raise I believe at this point is the way to go, and if he shoved call off and lose to a boat if he has it. this is where i think on my line, the mistake happened.

Its obvous raise turn - I can understand why raising with AT may not be best as recreational may have a lot of AQ/AJ in range but with AK we lose only to full houses.

As for river - probably only Jh is worst card in deck for you but... I would still struggle to find fold button there because I know this line is overbluffed by recreational players. Also this guy on small sample doesnt look passive so I'm calling - in worst case scenario I will lose money but will see his hand.

line over bluffed by recs, please show some proof of that, I be more willing that if he jammed everything in, that it is more of a bluff..

but you could be very right as well, thats why i asked for opinions. TY

flops when paired are over bluffed as for turns, not sure.

Emiya- fire away- pm away.

still with this hand- i am not sure if he has Aj,AQ. But i do get the idea behind the raise on turn. If that being said, with that raise wouldn't we want villain to keep barreling off if he is bluffing? Then if that is my mind set- even with the flush completing on river, I should be calling the bet on river. But still overbet seems super nutted to me..

Thank you all for your opinions appreciate it !!!
