Hello everyone,

Can someone please explain me how to use fold equity in practice?

Let's say I'm on SB and I'm trying to steal BB for 2bb. BB folds vs stealing from SB 45% of the time. Fold equity is 50% - 1,5bb/3bb. How do I determine what range I can steal with against the BB?

Thank you very much.

Hi KornoutOkoralej,

One way would be tu use Equilab which is a free range tool.
There are others, but Equilab works just fine for this.

If BB folds 45% of the time, then you want to play with the top 50% of hands — you could actually go wider, since you will win a portion of the time that BB calls. If BB 3Bets, then you already know what to do
In the "VPIP" box of the range selector, you put the percentage that you want.
